Building your character through matches

Step
In short Playing matches is the core loop — every game you finish makes your character stronger.

Your character earns experience each time you play, and levelling up raises core stats like kick power and speed. As your level climbs, new Hissatsu Techniques unlock automatically, giving you more options in every match.

  1. Play matches consistently experience accumulates from each game you take part in, pushing your level higher.
  2. Watch your stats after levelling up, check your character's stats to see how kick power and speed have improved.
  3. Use newly unlocked Hissatsu Techniques each one becomes available automatically when you hit the right level, so try them out straight away.
  4. Consider spreading progress across characters once you have one character solid, developing others raises your overall team strength.

Common questions

FAQ

Why do I keep losing matches?

The most common reason is a level gap — if your opponent's character is significantly higher level, their stats will outpace yours. Keep playing matches to gain experience and close that gap. Once your levels are closer, improving your input accuracy will raise your win rate.

How do I unlock new Hissatsu Techniques?

New techniques unlock automatically when your character reaches the required level — there is nothing extra to do. Just keep playing matches to earn experience, and new techniques will become available as your level rises.

Should I level multiple characters or focus on one?

Start with one character until you have a solid grip on the controls and how matches flow. Once you are comfortable, levelling additional characters helps build broader team strength.
