About

Overview

Locust Murder Mystery is an asymmetric hide-and-seek game developed by 1One Studio, where up to 25 players are split across three roles: Locust, Guardian, and Hider. Each role has a completely different goal, so understanding yours the moment a match starts is the key to winning. This guide walks you through how each role works and what you need to do to earn every badge.

Table
In short Every role plays differently, so the first thing to do at the start of any match is check which role you got.

Matches pit one Locust against a group of Hiders, with Guardians in between protecting the Hiders. Copying what another role's player is doing will get you nowhere — each role needs its own approach.

Locusthunt down every Hider and eliminate them before anyone escapes
Guardianprotect the Hiders by tracking the Locust and stunning it
Hiderhide, run, and outlast the Locust until the match ends

Common questions

FAQ

How do I win as a Hider?

You win simply by surviving the match without being eliminated by the Locust. Your first win as a Hider earns the First Win badge.

What is the difference between First Win and First Locust Win?

First Win unlocks the first time you win any match, whether as a Hider or as the Locust. First Locust Win is separate and only unlocks when you win specifically as the Locust. If your first win ever comes while playing the Locust, you earn both badges at once.

Can I unlock gears and emotes just by playing?

Yes — playing the game unlocks gears, emotes, and more over time.

How many players can be in one match?

A single match supports up to 25 players at a time.
