Your first steps in RoCity

Step
In short Following Henry's introductory questline gives you early cash rewards across its objectives.

When you join for the first time, an NPC called 'Hard Times' Henry at the Spawn Point starts a questline automatically. Each objective pays a reward. His quests walk you through four things: a car, an outfit, a first job, and a house.

  1. Talk to Henry find him at the Spawn Point and accept his quest to get directions to Spencer Auto just north across the street.
  2. Buy the Undertaker purchase this car from Spencer and then spawn it through the Vehicles app on your phone (press G). If the objective does not tick off, rejoin the server.
  3. Visit Bailley's head east of the dealership and buy two clothing items to complete the outfit objective and collect the $500 reward.
  4. Work at Nomburger step through the blue portal there and earn $200 working a shift as a Line Cook or Food Clerk; Henry pays you another $1,500 when you report back.
  5. Buy a blueprint and claim a property grab a blueprint from the shop, drive to the Neighborhood, click a vacant lot, pick a save slot, and place your house to earn the $1,000 housing reward.
  6. Furnish the house buy two furniture items from the shop and place them inside your property to collect the final $1,500 reward from Henry.

Jobs and how each one works

Tips
In short Every job has its own location and mechanic — step through the blue portal at each workplace to begin a shift.

Leaving your workstation at any point ends your shift immediately. Getting orders right earns you bonus money on top of your base pay.

Tips worth knowing
  • Food Clerk (Nomburger): click customers labelled 'Ready', enter their order of one to eight items into the computer, then confirm it.
  • Line Cook (Nomburger): read the order board and assemble burgers, fries, and drinks from scratch — a Normal burger needs buns and a patty, a Cheeseburger adds cheese, and a Deluxe adds cheese, lettuce, and tomato on top of that.
  • Cashier (Super-Mart): grab two or three bags from the right, click a ready customer, drag their conveyor-belt items over the scanner, and bag everything — dropping three items causes the customer to leave without paying.
  • Barista (Coffee House): place a cup under a coffee maker, choose tea or coffee, add any requested toppings (ice, milk, or whip cream), lid it, then place it on the correct green square.
  • Nurse (Hospital): click a ready patient, find the specific items they request from the pharmacy, laundry area, or kitchen pantry, then return and interact with the patient.
  • Police Officer: spawn a police car from the MyCar app after clocking in, wait for a robbery notification, declare pursuit, then click the robber to arrest them before they reach the safe zone.
  • Robber: go to the Super-Mart, 8/12, or Bank, press E to draw your gun and point it at an NPC, accept the robbery, grab the money bag, and hide until you see the 'You escaped' message.

Robbing the Bank

Warn
In short The bank heist requires preparation money and at least one active police officer in the server.

The bank requires you to spend $750 on equipment before you see any return. Make sure a Law Enforcement player is online — the heist cannot start without one.

Worth watching out for
You must have $750 available to buy the dynamite, keycard, and pick set before approaching the bank.
Point your gun at the bank worker first, then use the keycard to open the doors.
You have a limited window to loot the vault cabinets with your pick set, so move quickly once the safe is blown.
Once police are alerted they can see your position in real time; shooting a pursuing officer stalls them for only 10 seconds.
Getting shot during the escape sends you to jail, but you can simply walk out and continue the shift.
04

Building and furnishing your house

Check
In short Buying a blueprint and claiming a vacant lot is all it takes to start building, and you can decorate it however you like from there.

Houses sit in the Neighborhood. Once you own one, the shop gives you access to furniture you can place inside. You can also host Events at your home — use the Events app on your phone to set a name, date, time, duration, dress code, and entry fee of up to $1,000, then invite guests.

  • Buy a blueprint from the shop before heading to the Neighborhood you cannot claim a lot without one.
  • Click a vacant property or its For Sale sign, then choose a save slot and the blueprint you want to place.
  • Open the shop to browse furniture and place items inside your house after it spawns.
  • Use the Events app (first page of your phone) to schedule gatherings at your home and set an optional entry fee.
  • Guests you invite spawn at the front door the exception is the Antine Villa, where invited players appear beside the pool.
05

Getting around — cars and the map

Summary
In short A car makes every other activity faster, and the Map app on your phone replaces a cluttered on-screen GPS.

Spencer Auto is the first place to buy a vehicle. Once you own a car, spawn it through the Vehicles app on your phone at any time. Refilling your tank is done at the 8/12 Gas Station next to Spencer Auto — you cannot buy gas at the counter, but the pumps outside work on cars, trucks, and buses.

Car spawning open the phone with G, go to the Vehicles app, and spawn any car you own.
Map app found on the first page of your phone; tap Directions to get a route to any location, and Remove to clear it.
Fuel pull into the 8/12 Gas Station pumps to refill; the counter sells food and drinks but not fuel.
Police car only available through the MyCar app while you are clocked in as a Police Officer.

Side quests worth doing

Step
In short Both side quests reward you with cash and a unique item.

After Henry's questline, two other quests are currently active. Sandy's quest takes you to the beach area, while Ralph's quest sends you back and forth between the Library and the Hospital.

  1. Seashells by the Seashore find Sandy at the Beach, accept her quest, and collect 16 seashells scattered across the Beach, Boardwalk, and Marina Dock; more than 16 spawn so you will not run out.
  2. Return to Sandy once you have all 16, go back and hand them over to receive $500 and Sandy's Shell Jar.
  3. Ralph's Reading find Ralph in Hospital Room 201, talk him through his dialogue until he asks for a book, then head to the Library and pick up 'The Addition of Subtraction' from Helga's desk.
  4. Return the first book Ralph will not like it; go back to the Library and this time pick up 'One Rock, Two Rock, Red Rock, Blue Rock' from Helga's desk, then return to Room 201 to continue the quest.

Redeem codes for free cash

Tips
In short Codes are a quick way to collect free in-game money and occasional items, but each code can only be used once per account.

To redeem a code, click the booth icon in the bottom left of your screen to open the shop, then swipe to the last tab — it shows a Twitter icon. Click the black box, type your code, and submit. If you see 'Code has been used' the code is already in your account; if you see 'Code is expired' the window has closed.

Tips worth knowing
  • Each code can only be redeemed once, so you cannot collect the same reward twice.
  • Rewards range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, plus occasional special items like the Pet Rock or the 10th Anniversary Snowglobe.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if I leave my workstation during a shift?

Your shift ends immediately the moment you step away from the work area.

I bought a car at Spencer Auto but the quest objective is not completing — what do I do?

This is a known bug with the car-spawning segment of Henry's introductory quest. Rejoin the server after spawning your car and the objective should tick off on the next load.

Can I do the bank heist alone?

The heist requires at least one Law Enforcement player to be active in the server before it will start.

Where do I find the seashells for Sandy's quest?

The shells spawn randomly across the Beach, the Boardwalk, and the Marina Dock. More than 16 are placed in the world at once.
