About

Overview

Paint to Hide and Seek is a round-based hide-and-seek game on Roblox where you paint yourself any color and try to blend into the map as a Hider, or hunt down every hidden player as a Seeker. Rounds are short and chaotic, and your role can switch each round.

How a round works

Summary
In short Each round splits players into Hiders and Seekers, and winning means different things depending on which side you are on.

At the start of every round, players are divided into two roles. Hiders need to stay hidden until the timer runs out, while Seekers need to find and catch every Hider before time is up. Roles can switch between rounds, so you will get to play both sides. The timer is the pressure point for everyone.

  • Hiders survive until the timer ends without being found
  • Seekers catch every Hider before the timer runs out
  • Role can change each new round, so learn both sides

Hiding effectively as a Hider

Tips
In short Matching your paint color to the background and picking a quiet spot away from other Hiders gives you the best chance of surviving the timer.

Before you pick a color, take a moment to look at the walls, floors, and objects around you. The closer your paint matches the background, the harder you are to spot. Spread out from other Hiders too, because a cluster of bodies in one corner is easy to notice.

Tips worth knowing
  • Look at the map's colors before you commit to a paint choice
  • Aim for corners, recessed spots, and areas that Seekers pass quickly
  • Do not group up with other Hiders — scattered players are harder to find
  • Use height variation: low to the ground or up high can both reduce how visible you are

Paint color by map environment

Table
In short Picking a color that fits the area you are hiding in — not just any color you like — is the core skill of blending in.

The same color looks completely different depending on the lighting and surfaces nearby. Get into the habit of reading the environment first, then choosing your paint.

Finding Hiders as a Seeker

Check
In short A Seeker who moves methodically and watches for small color mismatches will find more Hiders than one who rushes around.

No Hider blends in perfectly — there is almost always a slight mismatch in shade, edge, or shape. Work through the map in an organized way rather than doubling back over the same ground, and pay extra attention to corners and darker spots where Hiders tend to gather.

  • Walk the whole map in a planned path so you cover every area once
  • Look for colors or shapes that feel slightly off against the background
  • Check dark corners and tucked-away spots carefully popular hiding areas
  • Keep moving through the map to find everyone in time

Common questions

FAQ

What should I do first when I join a round as a Hider?

Scan the walls, floors, and nearby objects to get a read on the dominant colors in the area. Then pick a paint color that matches as closely as possible and move to a spot that is out of the way.

Can I change my paint color during a round?

Yes, you can change your color at any point during the round. This lets you adapt if you move to a different part of the map with a different color scheme.

What happens if a Seeker catches me?

You are out for that round once you are found. You wait until the timer finishes before the next round begins.
