Build a Dino Defense — Traps versus turrets
About
OverviewBuild a Dino Defense is a tower-defense game where waves of hungry dinosaurs are trying to reach and destroy your egg. You build forts, place traps, set up turrets, and open crates to unlock weapons — all to keep that egg in one piece.

Traps versus turrets — when to use each
TableNeither traps nor turrets alone will see you through every wave.
| Traps | trigger automatically whenever a dinosaur walks over them, low upfront cost, best placed in corridors enemies cannot avoid. |
| Turrets | continuously target enemies in range, shine in later waves when the number of dinosaurs makes constant fire essential. |
| Early game | lean on traps to reliably pick off the smaller early crowds without draining your cash. |
| Late game | add turrets alongside your traps so you have sustained firepower when dozens of dinosaurs are charging at once. |
Getting the most cash from every wave
TipsYou earn cash for each dinosaur you defeat, so the more enemies your defenses hit per wave, the faster your funds grow for upgrades.
- Stack traps in the one corridor every dinosaur must use — hitting many enemies with a single setup beats spreading traps across wide open ground.
- Repair broken traps between waves before the next group arrives.
- Buy several cheaper traps early rather than saving up for one expensive one.
- Use crate weapons to upgrade existing defenses.
Crates and the weapons inside them
CheckWhen a dinosaur goes down it can drop a crate. Missing those crates means missing out on weapons and upgrades you need for the harder waves ahead.
- Watch for crates on the ground after each wave.
- Open every crate straight away so you have the weapons available before the next wave starts.
- Use the weapons inside to upgrade your traps and turrets.
Keeping the egg safe as waves get harder
WarnLater waves bring more dinosaurs and hit harder than earlier ones.

Common questions
FAQHow many players can defend together in one session?
Up to six players can play together.
What do I do when the dinosaurs are breaking through faster than I can repair?
Check whether your traps and turrets are actually sitting on the path enemies take. Open any crates you have and use the weapons inside to upgrade your defenses.
I keep running out of cash mid-wave. How do I fix that?
Cash only comes from defeating dinosaurs. Concentrate your defenses on the paths enemies take so more dinosaurs are stopped and you earn more cash.
