Your role at the start of each round
StepWhen a round starts, the game tells you whether you are an animal or a zookeeper. The two roles are complete opposites, so knowing yours right away is what everything else builds on.
- Read your team look at the team information on screen before you move anywhere.
- Learn your spawn area take a second to look around the spot where you appear so you know what is nearby.
- Test your controls try moving and using any special actions before the action heats up.
Playing as an animal
TipsAs an animal your job is to escape and stay hidden. The zoo map has plenty of cover, so the sooner you find a good hiding spot the better your chances. Running the same path every time makes you predictable, so mix up your routes.
- Get behind buildings or obstacles early — open ground is where animals get caught.
- Keep several escape routes in mind so you are never cornered with nowhere to go.
- Stick close to other animals when you can, since a group is harder for one zookeeper to deal with.
- Try spots that other players overlook; the best hiding places are the ones nobody checks first.
Playing as a zookeeper
TipsAs a zookeeper you need to track down every escaped animal.
- Learn which corners and tight spaces animals like to use — you will keep finding them in the same kinds of spots.
- Drive animals toward places they cannot escape from rather than leaving them open ground to run.
- Call out positions to teammates when you spot an animal, even if you cannot catch it alone.
Things to check when you keep losing
CheckIf a round is not going your way, run through these points before the next one starts.
- Are you using the right controls? Double-check your movement and special action buttons.
- If you are an animal, are you actually hidden? Waiting in plain sight will get you caught every time.
- If you are a zookeeper, are you predicting where animals move instead of just reacting to them?
- Are you watching the round timer? Knowing how much time is left should shape what you do next.
- Is your team balanced in numbers? An uneven split makes the game much harder for the smaller side.

Common questions

No. Every weapon in the game is a harmless fake. Touching another player with one triggers a game-rule effect, but there is no damage of any kind involved.
