The two teams and their goals
TableTeams are assigned randomly every round, so you need to understand both sides before you play. Children outnumber the Nightmare players but have to complete an objective inside a dark institution to win. Nightmare players are fewer but more powerful and only need to stop the Children from finishing.
| Children | sneak through the dark institution and restore the TVs to escape |
| Nightmare | hunt the Children and prevent any TV from being fully restored |
| Team size | Children have more players; Nightmare has fewer but greater strength |
| Win condition | Children win by escaping after restoring the TVs; Nightmare wins by stopping them |

Tips for playing as a Child
TipsThe dark environment is your biggest ally as a Child. Nightmare players are powerful, so a direct confrontation is rarely a good idea. Your team's numbers are an advantage only if you use them — coordinate rather than clump together.
- Use the darkest parts of the institution to move around without being spotted
- Split into smaller groups so a single Nightmare player cannot shut down all progress at once
- When a teammate is being chased, have another group push ahead on the TV restoration
- Talk through your plan with teammates before the round starts if you are playing with friends
- Learn item locations over multiple rounds so you can move to them quickly without searching
Tips for playing as Nightmare
TipsYou are outnumbered as a Nightmare player, so covering ground quickly matters. The TV restoration is your real threat — if it completes, you lose.
- Plan a patrol route that takes you through as much of the institution as possible
- Keep checking on the TVs so you know how close the Children are to finishing
