Controls to learn before anything else

Check
In short Three keys — F, T, and the movement toggles — cover almost everything you will do in the game.

The game runs on a small set of keybinds, so getting them into muscle memory early saves a lot of trouble. Movement has two separate toggles, which means you pick your pace in two steps rather than one.

  • F stun attack; this is your main combat button
  • T sniff and highlight nearby bone piles so you can see them on the map
  • Z toggle between walk and trot
  • X toggle between canter and sprint
  • R rest
  • B, G, Y bark, growl, and playbow emotes

Common questions

FAQ

How do I find bone piles without wandering forever?

Press T whenever you enter a new part of the map and any nearby bone pile will be highlighted.

How high can I level my dog?

The Veteran badge requires reaching level 50 on a breed, confirming that the level cap is at least 50.

Do I need friends to play, or can I go solo?

The Strength in Numbers badge specifically requires being in a full group, so you will need other players for that one goal.
