First steps after joining

Step
In short The opening days are your best window to get organized, so use them.

When you load in, zombies are sparse and the map is yours to move through safely. Use that breathing room to find survivors and lock down a base location before things get harder.

  1. Scout the area walk the map and look for survivors you can rescue and bring back.
  2. Gather materials collect wood, stone, and any other resources needed to start building.
  3. Start constructing begin putting up walls around your chosen base as soon as you have enough materials.

The day-4 turning point

Warn
In short Zombie numbers rise sharply after day four, so your defenses must be ready before that.

The first four days give you time to prepare, but the game begins spawning many more zombies once that window closes. Anything left unbuilt by then will be much harder to finish under pressure.

Worth watching out for
Build your walls before day four, not during the surge.
Limit entry points into your base so zombies can only approach from one or two directions.
Stock weapons ahead of time.
Stockpile food and medical supplies before the attacks become frequent.
03

Daily survival loop

Check
In short Balancing repairs, supplies, and rescues every day is what keeps you alive to day thirteen.

After day four, each in-game day follows roughly the same pattern: defend against a raid, then fix what broke and prepare for the next one. Teams that divide these jobs handle the cycle better than those where everyone does the same thing.

  • Prepare your weapons and top off your health before each day's raid hits.
  • Repair any walls or structures the zombies damaged as soon as the raid ends.
  • Gather enough food to keep every player in the game going.
  • Check whether there are new survivors to rescue and add to your group.
04

Playing without spending

Summary
In short Every part of the game is accessible without spending anything, so teamwork is the real advantage.

Base building, weapons, and rescuing survivors are all available to free players. The edge comes from coordinating well with teammates, not from purchases.

  • Base building fully available at no cost.
  • Weapons obtainable through normal play.
  • Cooperative play the main factor in surviving all 13 days.

Common questions

FAQ

What should I do the moment I spawn in?

Start exploring to find survivors while scouting for a good base location. Zombies are rare in the early days, so treat that time as your setup window to gather materials and begin building.

When do zombies become a serious threat?

The game starts spawning large numbers of zombies after day four.

Can I play alone?

You can play solo, but cooperating with multiple players helps with base building and defense.

What does winning actually look like?

Your goal is to still be alive when day thirteen ends, with as many rescued survivors as possible. Keeping the base repaired and meeting each daily raid prepared is the path to getting there.
