In short You unlock up to four Breathing Style skills total — one from your trainer at level one, then one more every twelve levels after that.

Breathing Styles are your main combat tools as a Demon Slayer. You can earn them through your trainer or spend yen to buy Pillar Skills directly. Beast Breathing is taught by a trainer near the entrance to Yokai Village and offers moves including Rip and Devour, Pierce and Extract, Circular Fangs, and Mad Cleave.

  1. Reach level 1 you cannot visit your trainer until you hit at least level one.

05

Breaking gourds to build your breath

Check
In short Breaking all four gourds speeds up your breathing and is a requirement for certain Breathing Styles including Moon Breathing.

There are four gourds to buy and break in order, starting from the smallest. To breathe into one, fill your breath bar completely, then hold G and click. The animation will drain your bar rapidly — repeat until the gourd breaks.

  • Buy the smallest gourd first you cannot skip to a bigger one.
  • Fill your breath bar completely before each attempt.
  • Hold G and click to blow into the gourd keep repeating until it shatters.
  • Move to the next gourd after each break each one you clear increases how fast you can breathe.
06

Kokushibo raid

Warn
In short Kokushibo is one of the hardest bosses in the game and should never be attempted alone.

Kokushibo is in the Endless Room inside the Infinity Castle, accessed through the first door with a purple outline you see after entering the castle from the demon cave. To summon him, place a Flute on the Flesh Hand in that room and wait about two seconds. He has three phases, and Phase 3 only activates if no player has been killed by him during the fight.

Worth watching out for
Bring at least five players the recommended split is three humans and two demons, or three demons.
During Phase 1, let the human players lead demons stay back and rotate in if a human gets critically low on health.
Phase 2 starts at roughly 45–50% HP with a large AOE attack.
In Phase 2, humans should fall back to heal while demons and hybrids take the front.
Phase 3 gives him infinite HP but he dies after three minutes.
His Phase 3 blood drop has a 40% chance Phase 2 blood works for Moon Breathing.
07

Moon Breathing unlock steps

Step
In short Moon Breathing requires you to combine a flute, demon blood, and precise timing across four separate repetitions to earn all four skills.

Moon Breathing requires you to arrive breathless — no other breathing style active — along with a Flute, demon blood, the right gourd progress, the right rank, and a high enough level. Each run through the process earns exactly one skill, so you repeat it four times for the full set.

  1. Arrive breathless use a code or a paid reset if you already have a breathing style, or visit the breath resetter NPC on the bridge near Toriyama Village.
  2. Clear Final Selection with a katana in hand.
  3. Buy all Pillar Skills from the NPC near the Final Selection area at 1,000 yen each.
  4. Break the small, medium, and large gourds.
  5. Reach level 150 or higher.
  6. Reach Human Hunter rank (-200 Reputation) or Exiled rank (-350 Reputation).
  7. Get a Flute either kill the Yoriichi Spirit Fragment for a 5% chance at one, or search the map at night where there is a 50% chance of a flute spawning across 40 possible locations.
  8. Buy demon blood from the Useful Demon NPC at the entrance to the demon cave for 100 yen, drink it, and the instant the transformation begins equip the Flute and click as fast as you can.
  9. Repeat all of steps 7–8 three more times each successful run gives one Moon Breathing skill.
08

Legacy Event collectibles

Step
In short The Legacy Event has two separate tracks — shard collection for skills and cube collection for the haori area.

Shards spawn with a 50% chance every hour across the map. Cubes are fixed objects hidden around the map that you find and click.

  1. Find a shard when it spawns they appear at a 50% chance every hour.
  2. Hold the shard for two full minutes it only enters your inventory after you have carried it that long.
  3. Talk to the trainer hand in the shard to receive one move.
  4. Search the map for the five cubes click each one you find.
  5. Collect all five cubes this opens a wall in the winter area, unlocking the haori area.
09

Redeem codes

Tips
In short Codes expire and can only be used once per account, so redeem any working code the moment you see it.

On PC or mobile, type the code directly in chat and it activates. On Xbox, press D-pad left, open the menu, go to Dev Products, and type the code there.

Tips worth knowing
  • Each code works only once on any given account — a second attempt with the same code does nothing.
  • VIP Servers do not save data, so do not redeem codes there or the rewards will be lost when you leave.
  • Some codes reset passives, breathing styles, or colors rather than giving items.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play without spending Robux?

Yes — becoming a Demon Slayer, forging your Nichirin blade, learning Breathing Styles, and building Reputation all cost nothing. Yen earned by killing NPCs is enough to buy Pillar Skills and other in-game items.

My Reputation went negative. How do I recover it?

Keep killing demon NPCs and demon bosses, since each kill adds positive Reputation. Avoid attacking humans while you recover, because every human kill subtracts 5 more points. If your Reputation drops below -350 you reach Exiled rank, which is the entry point for the Hybrid path.

Why did I lose my progress after playing on a VIP Server?

VIP Servers do not save any data — Reputation, experience, and items gained there are all erased when you leave. Always play on a standard public server when you want your progress to carry over.

How do I get a Flute for Moon Breathing or the Kokushibo raid?

You have two options: kill the Yoriichi Spirit Fragment for a 5% drop chance, or search the map at night where a flute has a 50% chance of spawning at one of 40 different locations.
