Catch a Brainrot is an open-world creature-collection RPG on Roblox where you explore fields, catch meme-based creatures called Brainrots, raise them, and battle your way forward. This guide covers everything from picking your first Brainrot to managing energy in fights, earning money, and tracking down the rarest creatures.
Picking your first Brainrot and learning the basics
Step
In shortGetting through the tutorial cleanly sets you up for everything that follows.
The game drops you into a lab where you choose one of three starter Brainrots. Once you have made your choice, the tutorial walks you through catching, battling, and using the Lot Center.
Choose your starterpick whichever of the three Brainrots you like most at the lab.
Finish the tutorialit covers catching, battling, and the Lot Center all at once.
Head into the fieldwalk through the tall grass to find wild Brainrots via symbol encounters.
Locate the Lot Centerthis is your hub for healing, PC access, and shopping.
In shortWeakening a Brainrot before throwing a Lot Box is the single most important catching habit to build.
Wild Brainrots appear as visible symbols in the field grass rather than as random encounters. The glow around a symbol tells you the rarity before you even touch it — green is common, blue is less common, and purple is the rarest. Higher-tier Lot Boxes improve your odds, and you can buy them at the Lot Center shop.
Tips worth knowing
Chip away at the wild Brainrot's HP before throwing any Lot Box — lower HP means a better catch rate.
Read the glow: green is common, blue is rarer, and purple is rarest and worth the most when sold.
Check chests scattered around the field for free Lot Boxes and money; common chests respawn in 5 minutes and rare chests in 1–2 hours.
Once your party hits six Brainrots, any new catches go straight to the PC — pull them out at the Lot Center and heal them before using them.

In shortControlling energy flow wins fights; losing track of it loses them.
Battles here look like turn-based Pokemon fights but add a shared energy pool that every skill draws from. Energy climbs by one each turn and can grow faster with the Charge skill. When you knock out an opposing Brainrot, you steal all the energy it was holding. Shield costs two energy and blocks an incoming attack, but a skill combining attack and healing will still apply the healing even if the attack is blocked.
Energy per turn
gains one automatically, more with Charge.
Energy on a knockout
you steal every point the defeated Brainrot held.
Shield cost
two energy to block one attack.
Attack-plus-heal skills
the heal goes through even when Shield stops the hit.
Your dying Brainrot
spend its energy down before it faints so the opponent steals as little as possible.
05
Earning money and using it well
Tips
In shortSelling Brainrots in the town whose currency you want is far more efficient than trying to exchange money later.
Each town in the game runs on its own currency, and swapping money between towns cuts the value in half. The cleanest solution is to catch Brainrots in a town's surrounding field and sell them at that town's SELL building — the money you get is already in the local currency. Rarer Brainrots fetch more, so blue and purple glows are worth chasing. Player level also matters here, because leveling up increases how many coins you earn per transaction.
Tips worth knowing
Sell in the right town — always use the SELL building in the same town whose currency you need.
Target blue and purple Brainrots — their sale price is higher than green ones.
Use area-trait items when selling — these drop occasionally on catches and convert the sale into local currency.
Open field chests regularly — they refill your Lot Box supply and add money.
Raise your player level — it directly multiplies the coins you collect, so filling the collection helps.
Trade duplicates with other players — this fills gaps in your collection.
06
When you keep losing fights
Check
In shortMost losing streaks come down to three fixable problems: low levels, poor energy timing, and unhealed Brainrots.
Before you retry a tough trainer or boss, run through this list. Field bosses respawn on a timer, so farming them is a reliable way to catch up on both experience and cash.
Are your Brainrots underleveled? Farm field bosses until the gap closes, then try again.
Are you spending high-cost skills when the opponent has full energy? They can Shield it and you waste the move.
Did you heal everything at the Lot Center after pulling Brainrots from the PC?
Are you letting a nearly-fainted Brainrot hold a lot of energy? Spend it down so the opponent gains less.
07
Hunting sleeping boss Brainrots
Warn
As you push deeper into the map, you will find large Brainrots sleeping in the field. Using an alarm wakes them and starts a fight. Standard Lot Boxes can catch them at low odds; higher-grade boxes raise those odds significantly, and the top paid boxes can guarantee a catch. If you knock one out, there is no confirmed way to encounter it again.
Worth watching out for
Stock up on the best Lot Boxes you can afford before activating the alarm.
Use weak moves or low-attack Brainrots to nibble HP down without an accidental knockout.
If a knockout looks unavoidable, retreating from the battle is better than losing the creature.
Prioritize the catch over dealing damage.
08
Staying safe while playing
Warn
In shortEvery part of the game is playable without sharing personal information or going to outside sites.
Catch a Brainrot has trading, so you will interact with other players. Keep all of that inside the game. If someone asks you to visit an external site, hand over account details, or share personal information, ignore it and use the in-game block feature.
Worth watching out for
Never share your Roblox password or personal details with another player.
Ignore anyone who pushes you toward an outside website during a trade.
Block players who feel suspicious rather than engaging with them.

Common questions
FAQ
Where do I find wild Brainrots?
Walk through the tall grass areas on the field map and you will see Brainrots as visible symbols. Touch one to start a fight. The color of its glow tells you the rarity before you engage — green is common, blue is uncommon, and purple is the rarest.
Why did my Brainrot faint immediately after I took it out of the PC?
Brainrots stored in the PC keep the HP they had at the moment they were caught or last put in. Always visit the Lot Center to heal them fully before taking them into a fight.
How do I stop losing money when I move between towns?
Each town uses its own currency, and exchanging it elsewhere cuts the value by half. Catch Brainrots in the field around the town you are currently in and sell them at that town's SELL building so the money comes out in the right currency automatically.
Can I complete the game without spending Robux?
Catching, training, battling, and trading are all fully available without paying. The main thing paid boxes offer is a higher catch rate on the rarest sleeping boss Brainrots, but standard boxes can still catch them at lower odds.
What should I do if I accidentally knock out a sleeping boss Brainrot?
Stock far more Lot Boxes than you think you need before the fight, and use only weak moves so you do not burn through HP too fast. If a knockout looks close, retreating and trying again is safer than finishing the battle without catching it.
