First thing to do: learn your controls
CheckSprint is your most important control, and the button depends on what you're playing on.
- Sprint on PC hold Left Shift to run faster than your normal walking speed.
- Sprint on console press L2 to sprint instead.
- Read the game name and rules shown on screen when each new minigame loads.

The four types of games you will face
TipsThe 19 games in Borderland fall into four broad styles. Knowing which style you are in the moment a round starts helps you react faster than players who are still figuring it out.
- Chase games (Tag, Hide and Seek, Kick The Can) — sprint and stay hidden or outrun whoever is chasing you.
- Puzzle and strategy games (Checkmate, Osmosis, Labyrinth) — slow down, look at everything in the environment, and think before you move.
- Survival and escape games (Solitary Confinement, Runaway Train, Boiling Death, Distance) — work with other players to find the exit or safe zone.
- Battle games (Battle Royale, Zombie Hunt, Target, Witch Hunt) — you are competing directly against or alongside other players.
- Other rounds (Sacred Fortunes, Beamline, Beauty Contest, Dead or Alive) — each has its own twist, so reading the round description carefully matters.
Playing with friends
TipsThe game is designed as a multiplayer experience and works well with a group. Friends can communicate strategies in rounds where teamwork is rewarded.
- Use chat to share what you spotted — a hidden exit or a chaser's position shared quickly can help the whole group.
- Replaying the same game with friends helps you discover routes and tactics you missed the first time.
What to check when you keep losing a round
CheckIf the same game is beating you every time, run through this list before blaming luck.
- Did you read the rules at the start, or did you skip them and guess?
- Are you walking through rounds where sprinting would keep you safe?
- In puzzle rounds, have you searched the whole environment rather than just the obvious areas?
- Are you watching what successful players do differently and adjusting your own approach?

Common questions
FAQWhat happens when I lose a round?
You are eliminated from that minigame, but Borderland is a collection of separate minigames, so the next round gives you a completely fresh start.
Can I play solo, or do I need friends?
You can play solo and you will be matched with other players. The game is designed around a multiplayer crowd.
Do I need to spend Robux to access all 19 games?
All 19 minigames are available without spending anything.
How do I unlock the Winner badge?
The Winner badge is awarded for being the last player standing in the last player standing mode.
Why does each game have a playing card next to its name?
The card rank is how the game labels each minigame, matching the Alice in Borderland theme the developers built the game around.
