How essences work

Essences are magic abilities built around elements and other concepts. You equip two at once and can swap between them during a fight. They also appear randomly around the world, so exploring and absorbing them is just as important as PvP.
- Press E, R, or F to use the abilities of whichever essence is currently active.
- Press T to switch to your second essence — you can change this key in settings if T is awkward for you.
- When you spot an essence that has spawned in the world, walk up to it and absorb it to add its power.
- Shards you earn from defeating players can be used to summon essences instead of waiting for one to spawn.
