whizzbang — Controller layout before your first fight
About
OverviewWhizzbang is a co-op shooter where soldiers hold out in a dugout and try to survive as many days as possible against enemy attacks. Roles split between sharpshooter, medic, and engineer, so working with your team is what keeps you alive. This guide covers survival, classes, trench raids, and everything else you need to make progress.

Controller layout before your first fight
CheckWhizzbang supports PS and Xbox controllers, and each button has one fixed job. The scope is the only control that is locked to a specific class — it only works when you have chosen Sharpshooter.
- Square (PS) or X (Xbox) load your weapon
- Triangle (PS) or Y (Xbox) switch between hammer and shoulder weapon
- Circle (PS) or B (Xbox) enter the ready/aim state
- L2 use the scope, Sharpshooter class only
- D-Pad Left call for a medic
- D-Pad Down other callouts
Three classes and what each one does
TableEach class earns badges through a completely different set of actions, so your contribution to the team also doubles as progress toward your own goals.
| Sharpshooter | eliminates enemies from long range using the L2 scope; badges go from 100 studs to 200 and then 300 |
| Medic | heals wounded teammates; badge tiers sit at 25, 75, 1,000, and 5,001 heals |
| Engineer | repairs the trench; badge tiers are 25, 150, 500, and 2,007 repairs |
Survival milestones to aim for
StepThe game tracks how many days you have stayed alive, and badges mark the key thresholds. The day-100 badge has a special rule: you must have been in the server for at least 50 of those days. If you join a server that is already on day 60, the badge will not unlock until day 110.
- Day 1 survive your first day
- Day 3 survive for three days
- Day 10 survive for ten days
- Day 20 reach day 20
- Day 100 the biggest survival badge; you must have been in the server for at least 50 days yourself
Winning trench raids
TipsTrench raids are a competitive element of Whizzbang, and your win total is tracked. Badges unlock at 1, 10, 50, and 100 wins.
- 1 win — win a trench raid
- 10 wins — win 10 trench raids
- 50 wins — win 50 trench raids
- 100 wins — win 100 trench raids
Cooking bred between fights
TipsAlongside fighting and repairs, you can cook bred. There are three badges for it: 20 cooks, 100 cooks, and 450 cooks.
- 20 cooks — unlocks the first cooking badge
- 100 cooks — unlocks the second cooking badge
- 450 cooks — unlocks the third cooking badge
Special badges worth knowing
SummaryMost badges come from repeating a role hundreds of times, but two are different.
- Serve with Captain Woodlegs a badge of honor for your service with Captain Woodlegs
- Sweet Liberty tied to an in-game moment rather than a number of actions
