About

Overview

Neighbors (18+) is a social hangout game on Roblox where the goal is simply to meet and talk with people from around the world. There are no enemies to beat and no levels to grind — conversation and connection are the whole point. This guide covers how to get started, how credits work, and how to stay safe while you play.

Getting started in Neighbors

Step
In short Setting up your profile before you hit the lobby makes it much easier for other players to approach you.

When you first load in, take a moment to set up your character's appearance and write a short self-introduction in your profile. Once that is done, head into the lobby area to start finding other players. If you plan to use voice chat, test your microphone in Roblox's audio settings before you jump into a conversation.

  1. Set your appearance customize your character so others can recognize you at a glance.
  2. Write a bio a short self-introduction gives other players a reason to say hello.
  3. Move to the lobby this is the main area where you will find people to talk to.
  4. Test your mic check Roblox's voice settings and your device's microphone permissions before your first chat.

How credits work

Summary
In short Credits build up automatically the entire time you are logged in, so there is no special task required to earn them.

Neighbors awards you one credit for every minute you spend in the game. You do not need to complete quests or beat anything to earn them — just being online is enough.

  • Earn rate one credit per minute, automatically.
  • Requirement none; simply being in the game is sufficient.
03

Making the most of voice chat

Tips
In short Voice chat is strongly recommended but entirely optional, and text chat alone works fine.

Voice chat is the fastest way to build a real conversation with someone, but Neighbors is designed so you can enjoy it with text only if you prefer.

Tips worth knowing
  • Voice chat is strongly recommended by the game but is never required — text chat is a complete alternative.
  • If nobody seems to be around, try moving to a different lobby area to find a new group.
  • If your voice chat is not working, check both Roblox's microphone permission and your operating system's mic settings.
04

Staying safe in an 18+ space

Warn
In short This version of Neighbors is aimed at adults, so personal information management is especially important.

Because this is the 18+ version of the game, you will mostly encounter adult players. Keep interactions inside Roblox, and act immediately if something feels wrong.

Worth watching out for
Never share your real name, address, phone number, or any other personal details with other players.
Do not follow requests to connect on outside platforms or hand over links to your social media accounts.
If another player sends messages that make you uncomfortable, block them and use Roblox's report tool right away.
Avoid anyone who pushes you to move a conversation outside of Roblox entirely.
05

Platform and language support

Check
In short Neighbors runs on most devices and supports a wide range of languages, so most players can jump in without barriers.

Before you start, it is worth confirming your device and language are supported. Note that stats from the regular version of Neighbors do not carry over into this 18+ version, so your progress here is separate.

  • Supported devices include PC, mobile, VR, and console.
  • Supported languages include English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Polish, Thai, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, and Tagalog.
  • Stats do not transfer from the main Neighbors game, so treat this version as a fresh start.
  • A regular non-18+ version of the game exists separately if you want to play in a different environment.
