Your first few minutes on the ice

Step
In short Your very first loop is drill, fish, fill the cooler, sell, repeat — everything else builds on that.

When you load in, you already have a fishing hole, a small cooler, and basic gear. The core loop is simple: fish until the cooler is full, carry it to Billy's Fish Market, walk inside to sell, then head back. Any fish you catch while the cooler is already full does not count, so do not ignore the sell trip.

  1. Approach the hole and hold E (tap the button on mobile) this starts the fishing minigame.
  2. Fill the cooler keep catching until no space is left.
  3. Pick up the cooler carry it to Billy's Fish Market, located right next to Jimothy's Outdoor Supply.
  4. Walk around inside the market moving through the store sells your fish and pays out the coins.
  5. Return to your hole when you get close enough, the cooler drops back into place automatically.

How the fishing minigame works

Tips
In short Timing your hold and release around the fish's color is the whole skill of reeling in.

After you start fishing, a minigame panel appears on the left side of your screen and your rod comes out. A fish will eventually approach the hook on the panel. Watch the fish color closely — green means hold, red means let go. Getting it wrong snaps your line.

Tips worth knowing
  • Hold down when the fish approaches the hook to start pulling it up.
  • Release the moment the fish turns red — holding through red snaps your line.
  • Hold again as soon as it turns green to continue reeling.
  • Once the fish is caught, a popup at the top of the screen shows you the species, size, and coin value.

What to upgrade

Table
In short Jimothy's Outdoor Supply sells rods, reels, coolers, and automated fishing poles.

Bigger coolers let you fit more fish per trip, reducing time spent walking to the market. A better rod makes each catch faster. Automated poles fish on their own without any input from you, but they cost significantly more than standard gear.

Cooler upgradelets you store more fish per trip.
Rod upgradeshortens the time it takes to reel in each fish.
Automated polefishes for you without input; this is the most expensive option.

Furnishings and your Luck percentage

Tips
In short Buying furnishings with higher luck rolls is the main way to catch rarer, more valuable fish.

Every furnishing you place at your fishing spot has a luck percentage range printed on it in the shop, such as 5–10%. When you buy it, the game rolls a random value inside that range, including decimal values like 8.9%. Your total Luck % directly raises the chances of catching rare fish. You cannot sell or gift furnishings after buying them, but you can keep purchasing the same item until you get a roll you are happy with and discard the lower ones. There is a limit to how many furnishings you can place down, even though your inventory itself holds as much as you want.

Tips worth knowing
  • You can buy the same furnishing multiple times to chase a better roll.
  • Once purchased, a furnishing cannot be sold or given to another player.
  • There is a cap on how many furnishings you can place.
06

Coin bonuses from friends and the group

Check
In short Playing with a friend who is also in the game's Roblox group gets you the full 20% coin bonus.

The game gives two stackable coin bonuses. Both kick in only after you rejoin the server. Together they add up to 20% more coins on every sale.

  • A friend is in the same server as you this gives a 10% coin bonus.
  • You are a member of the game's Roblox group this adds another 10% on top.
  • You have rejoined the server after meeting either condition the bonuses do not apply until you do.
  • Both conditions are active at the same time this is when you receive the full 20% boost.

Other things to do beyond fishing

Summary
In short Daily quests pull you across the whole map, and completing them is the main way to earn gems without spending real money.

The lake is one of four areas. Quests reward gems for finishing them. Gems are the premium currency, but you can earn them for free through quests and by mining in the gem mine. Coins come from selling fish, finishing quests, and completing challenges.

The ice lake your main fishing area.
The Cave Obby a platforming challenge listed in daily quests.
The Gem Mine where you mine for gems.
The Trail a path leading up the mountain to a lookout area.
Daily quests tasks like climbing the mountain, completing the obby, catching specific fish, collecting wood, or restocking campfires, all rewarding gems.
Challenges a separate category that also pays out coins.
09

Playing near other players' holes

Warn
In short Fishing from someone else's hole only benefits you if that player has granted you access — otherwise the fish and coins go entirely to them.

You can pick up your cooler and place it anywhere on the map, including next to another player's hole. However, the rules for who earns what are strict and easy to get wrong.

Worth watching out for
Fishing from another player's hole without access earns them the money and you nothing.
The other player must grant you access before you split proceeds and the split is not equal.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if I catch a fish when my cooler is already full?

The fish does not count toward anything. Always check your cooler space and head to the fish market before it fills up completely.

Can I play without spending real money?

Yes. You earn gems through daily quests and mining, and coins stack up naturally from selling fish.

Why did my coin bonus not appear after I added a friend to the server?

Bonuses only take effect after you rejoin the server. Leave and come back once your friend is in and, if applicable, once you have joined the game's Roblox group.

What do I do if I buy a furnishing and get a bad luck roll?

You cannot return or sell it, but you can buy the same furnishing again and hope for a higher roll. Keep the best one you get and discard the weaker copies.
