Pairing up and the basic controls
Step
You need a partner before you can do anything meaningful in a level. Walk up to another player and press E to pair with them. Once you are paired, the same E key lets you pick your partner up or throw them. Buttons scattered around each level open doors and move floor sections, so both of you need to know where they are.
- Press E on a player pair up with them to enter cooperative mode.
- Press E again pick your partner up or throw them across a gap.
- Find the buttons pressing them opens doors and shifts platforms.
- Reach the end together leaving your partner behind means you are not done yet.
Carrying versus throwing — when to use each
Table
You have two main ways to move your partner: hold them and walk, or throw them to a target spot. Narrow passages call for the careful carry. Wide gaps, high ledges, or spots where only one person can fit call for a throw.

Things to check when you are stuck
CheckWhen a level stops making progress, slow down and go through this list. After that, check on your partner, because a fall puts you in different places and makes coordination much harder.
- Count the buttons have both of you pressed every one in the area?
- Find your partner did they fall into a pit or wander into a different section?
- Look for hidden exits some passages to the next area are not obvious from the main path.
- Re-pair if needed leave the game and rejoin to reset your pairing and start fresh.
Building up your Gem count
Tips
The game tracks Gems you collect as you play, with badge rewards at several milestones. Sam's Club, one of the in-game badges, is tied to getting exclusive deals inside the game.
- Your first Gem milestone is 30 Gems.
- 150, 750, 3,000, and 15,000 Gems are the next badge thresholds.
- Reaching 30,000 Gems is the highest badge tier.
- Earning the Sam's Club badge unlocks exclusive deals inside Carry A Friend.
- Clearing every level earns you the Complete ALL levels badge, which is separate from the Gem milestones.
