construction — First things to try when you join
About
OverviewConstruction (Under Construction) is a city-building sandbox where you operate cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy vehicles to raise buildings, lay railroads, farm crops, mine ores, and wire up logic-gate computers — all of it free to play. This guide walks you through the main activities so you can dive into whichever part of the game interests you most.

First things to try when you join
StepThe game drops you in with no fixed objective, so the best opening move is to get a feel for the vehicles available. From there, pick the activity that sounds most fun — building, mining, farming, or wiring — and start experimenting. Nothing locks you in, so switching between them is always an option.
- Hop in a vehicle climb into a crane, bulldozer, or another machine to learn how it steers and what it can do.
- Pick your first activity if you want to build, grab a crane; if you want income first, head to the mining or farming area.
- Try the depth challenge the map goes down to -250 studs, so digging straight down is a good way to learn what the terrain looks like underground.
- Aim high early stacking a building past 25 stories is a concrete goal that teaches you how the vertical construction mechanics work.
- Invite a friend large projects move faster with extra hands, and co-op is available from the moment you start.
Three main ways to build
TableConstruction gives you three distinct building paths. You can put up structures using construction vehicles, run rail lines across the map, or wire electricity and logic gates together to make working computers and other contraptions. Each path has its own learning curve, and you can pursue all three in the same session.
| Buildings | use cranes and other vehicles to stack floors; reaching 25 stories and standing on top is a milestone the game explicitly rewards. |
| Railroads | lay tracks to create routes across the map; splitting the work with friends makes long lines much faster to complete. |
| Logic-gate machines | connect electricity and logic gates to build computers or automated gadgets. |
Earning money through mining and farming
TipsBoth activities feed directly into building: money you earn can go toward vehicles and projects, and crafted items from ores add to what you can make. Neither requires any upfront cost, so they are the natural starting point if you want resources before committing to a big construction job.
- Mine ore deposits to collect raw materials, then craft them into items you can use or sell.
- Plant crops, wait for them to grow, harvest them, and sell the yield to bring in cash.
- Split mining and farming duties with friends to gather resources faster than one person can alone.
Building your own custom vehicles
TipsBeyond the standard crane and bulldozer, the game lets you design original vehicles by combining parts and changing colours. Showing finished builds to friends is its own reward.
- Mix and match different parts to change the shape and function of your vehicle.
- Adjust colours and design details to stand out from the default machines other players are using.
- Share the result with friends in multiplayer so they can see what you built.
Private-server activities and hidden goals
CheckA handful of things in the game either require a private server or are deliberately left mysterious.
- Detonating a nuke is only possible in a private server do not expect to trigger it in a normal public game.
- One badge condition is intentionally hidden; exploring freely is the intended way to stumble across it.
Glossary
Glossary- Crane
- A construction vehicle used to lift and move materials when putting up tall structures.
- Bulldozer
- A heavy machine for clearing and levelling ground.
- Logic gate
- A component that controls electrical signals, used to build computers and automated devices inside the game.
- Ore
- A raw material extracted by mining that can be crafted into usable items.
- Private server
- A session only you and invited players can join, required for certain activities such as detonating a nuke.
- Custom vehicle
- A player-designed machine built by combining parts and colours rather than using one of the default vehicles.
Common questions
FAQWhat should I do first if I have never played before?
Jump into whichever activity sounds most interesting — there is no wrong starting point. Mining and farming generate in-game money, and building is available from the start with construction vehicles.
Can I play the whole game without spending Robux?
Yes. Mining and farming generate in-game money that covers construction costs and vehicle projects. Every activity in the game is accessible without paying anything.
Do I need friends to enjoy the game?
You can make good progress alone — mining, farming, vehicle customisation, and solo building all work in a single-player session. Large buildings and long rail lines come together faster when you split the work, and logic-gate projects benefit from a second player.
Why can I not set off the nuke in a public game?
Detonating a nuke is restricted to private servers. You need to start or join a private session to trigger it.
