About

Overview

Baldi Frenzy is a hide-and-seek horror game on Roblox where players either hunt as Baldi (or Troublesome) or survive as Students across a rotating set of maps. This guide covers both roles, the maps and their objectives, items, and tips for earning every badge.

The two roles and how a round works

Table
In short Every round puts you on one side of a chase — know which role you are before the countdown ends.

At the start of each round you are assigned either the killer role or the Student role. The killer waits through a 40-second countdown before hunting, while Students use that time to grab items and find notebooks.

Killerhunts Students by left-clicking when they are within reach distance
Studentcollects Notebooks by completing Activities and avoids being caught
Baldiuses a Boostometer that charges a Ruler Dash when full
Troublesomereplaces Baldi in the Troublesome Schoolhouse Special Round and the 99 modifier; faster but does not praise after Activities
Wild West Balditrades the Ruler Dash for a toy gun that deals 60 damage per shot and kills instantly on a headshot
Studentsearn 250 YTPs when they escape through an activated exit

02

Student priorities at round start

Step
In short The first minute decides whether you have enough items and map knowledge to survive Time-Out.

Other Students are competing for the same items, so speed matters early. Learning where Notebooks and Levers sit on each map cuts the time you spend in Baldi's path.

  1. Grab items first sprint through the map immediately; other Students are doing the same
  2. Solve Activities interact with each Notebook and complete its Activity to claim it and shorten the timer
  3. Pull Levers flip every Lever you find, since they also decrease the timer on maps that have them
  4. Listen for the Ruler Dash the loud slap sound tells you where Baldi is without needing line of sight
03

Hiding, moving, and staying alive as a Student

Tips
In short Smart positioning and movement techniques extend your survival far into Time-Out.

Movement skill and map awareness matter as much as items. The third-person camera and a few practiced techniques let you react to Baldi before he reaches you.

Tips worth knowing
  • Stand at a corner where two long hallways meet so you can see Baldi coming from either direction
  • Use the third-person camera to look around walls without stepping into the open
  • Save BSODA for the longer hallway and Diet BSODA for shorter ones — the splash duration matches each corridor
  • When your Staminometer runs low, find a Water Fountain or use a Zesty Bar before you stop dead
  • Dark corners and recessed areas hide you before Time-Out, but move out once it starts because Students become highlighted
  • Crouch Bhop during Time-Out — normal Bhopping is not fast enough to outrun Baldi at that stage
  • Wall-glide by angling slightly into a wall to carry your momentum through straightaways
04

Playing as Baldi — countdown to catch

Step
In short Combine Ruler Dashes with careful room checks and sound cues to corner Students before Time-Out.

Baldi starts slower than Time-Out lets him become, so the early game is about map control and forcing item usage. Every 30 seconds the Boostometer receives an automatic buff, so Students cannot simply hide forever.

  1. Take the Apple early grab it before Students can, since it becomes a major tool against you in Time-Out
  2. Knock on doors knocking lets you hear nearby Students through the door before you commit to a direction
  3. Reserve the Ruler Dash for corners slow down before turning so momentum does not slam you into a wall
  4. Check hiding spots methodically look under tables, in corners, and behind bookshelves; Students hiding in blue lockers can be flushed out with the 'I know you're in there!' taunt
  5. Try Ambush Baldi when you cannot find anyone skip the Ruler Dash, move quietly in third person, and get close before Students notice you
05

Match phases and the Time-Out shift

Summary
In short Time-Out changes the game completely for both sides, so track the timer and adjust the moment it kicks in.

Rounds move through distinct phases. During the Last Student Standing segment the timer drains at double speed, pressuring both sides. When Time-Out begins the pace resets — but Baldi becomes significantly more dangerous.

  • Last Student Standing timer drains twice as fast until Time-Out begins
  • Time-Out start (Baldi) Boostometer charges instantly, Ruler Dash has no cooldown, movement speed increases noticeably
  • Time-Out start (Students) all Students become highlighted, making every hiding spot less effective
  • Each Student caught during Time-Out adds 5 seconds to the timer
  • Boostometer buff fires automatically every 30 seconds and resets whenever an Objective is completed
06

Maps and their objectives

Check
In short Every map has a specific win condition beyond just surviving — know it before the round starts.

Normal maps rotate regularly; Special maps appear every three rounds and carry unique rules. Before moving, check which objective type the current map uses so you spend your time on the right tasks.

  • Notebook maps (Schoolhouse, Baldi's World, Spaceship, and others) collect all Notebooks to open exits or decrease the timer
  • Lever maps (Basement, Maintenance #1, Detention Outbreak, Super Mall, Glitched Schoolhouse) pull all Levers in addition to collecting Notebooks
  • Elevator maps (Not So Public Demo, Ancient Plus Spaces, Factory #1, Laboratory #1) collect Notebooks to activate Elevators at Time-Out; completing Activities also shortens the timer
  • Campsite Special find Log, Coal, or Gasoline around the map and hand it to 1st Prize to keep the Campfire lit; if the fire dies, everyone is highlighted until it is relit
  • Wild West Special hit Targets with Plungers to decrease the timer; Baldi uses a toy gun instead of a ruler
  • Farm Special feed Animals (Wheat to Cows and Sheep, Corn to Chickens, Granny Smith to Pigs) to stop Gotta Reap from triggering
  • Troublesome Schoolhouse Special survive until the timer runs out; Troublesome replaces Baldi and does not slow down for praising
07

Items and what they do

Table
In short Pick items that match the immediate threat — push Baldi away, hide your sounds, or recover stamina.

Regular items appear on any map; Special items only appear in specific maps or situations. Right-click or tap the Use button to activate an item.

BSODAPushes Baldi away with a lasting splash

08

Common questions

FAQ

Will the game keep getting new content?

The developers ended the project for health reasons, so the game will stay in Alpha permanently. Only patches are still being released. The game remains fully playable.

How do I open the exits as a Student?

On maps that use exits, collect every Notebook by completing their Activities. Once all Notebooks are gathered the exits activate, and leaving through one earns you 250 YTPs.

What should I do differently during Time-Out as a Student?

Move out of any hiding spot immediately because you become highlighted and easy to spot. Switch to Crouch Bhopping — regular Bhopping is not fast enough to outrun Baldi once his speed increases at Time-Out.

Does the Apple work against Troublesome?

No — the Apple has no effect on Troublesome, so using it against him simply wastes the item.

What do Hardcore Servers change?

Hardcore Servers award twice as many YTPs per round as standard servers.

How do I play as Troublesome instead of Baldi?

Troublesome only appears as the killer in the Troublesome Schoolhouse Special Round and when the 99 modifier is active. Outside of those conditions, Baldi is always the killer.
