About

Overview

Lethal Ape is a survival horror game on Roblox where you play as an ape trying to survive inside a lab full of monsters. You collect materials, convert them into currency at a machine called the Scrapper, and spend that currency on gear to stay alive. This guide covers the core loop, navigation, escaping monsters, and how to use your equipment — everything you need to stop dying and start making progress.

Your first ten minutes

Step
In short The only goal when starting out is learning where the Scrapper is and completing one safe round trip with a small handful of materials.

When you spawn in, resist the urge to head deep into the lab. Walk around the entrance area first and find the Scrapper — the machine that turns materials into spendable currency called Golds. Once you know where it is, try out basic movement near the entrance. Then grab a few materials and bring them straight back before a monster shows up.

  1. Find the Scrapper walk the entrance area until you spot the conversion machine and remember its location.
  2. Try your controls practice moving, jumping, and picking up items near the entrance before going further in.
  3. Collect one to three materials check shelves, floor corners, and corridor edges for drops, then stop.
  4. Return before trouble starts head back the way you came as soon as you have anything worth keeping.
  5. Convert and check put your materials into the Scrapper and confirm that your Golds total has gone up.
  6. Find the purchase terminal once you have Golds, locate the terminal so you know where to spend them.

How materials and Golds work

Summary
In short Picking up a material does nothing on its own — you must run it through the Scrapper before you can spend anything.

The lab contains three types of material: gold, copper, and diamond. None of them function as money while they sit in your inventory. Feed them into the Scrapper and they become Golds, which is the currency you actually spend at the purchase terminal. Materials reappear at the same spots, so memorising a few reliable shelves and corners pays off over repeated runs.

  • Gold one of the three materials found in the lab; must be converted at the Scrapper to have any value.
  • Copper second material type; same conversion rule applies.
  • Diamond third material type; same conversion rule applies.
  • Golds the spendable currency you receive after putting any material into the Scrapper.
  • Scrapper the machine inside the lab that performs the conversion; learn its location on your very first run.
  • Purchase terminal where you spend Golds on equipment such as the Radar.

Finding your way without a map

Tips
In short Break the lab into short segments from the Scrapper to the next landmark, and memorise each turn as you make it.

The lab has no in-game map, but the corridor layout stays consistent between sessions, so repetition works. The key habit is treating the route as a chain of short segments rather than one long path to memorise all at once. Before stepping into any room, note where the exit is. Higher floors have more valuable materials but also mean a longer trip back, so only go up once you can return from the lower floors without getting lost.

Tips worth knowing
  • Use lights, staircases, machines, and colour differences as landmarks rather than relying on memory alone.
  • Mutter the order of your turns quietly as you make them — right, left, stairs — to lock in the sequence.
  • Treat the Scrapper-to-next-landmark stretch as one unit, then add the next unit only when the first is solid.
  • Check a room for exits before walking in, not after.
  • Master the lower-floor return route completely before exploring a higher floor.
05

Escaping a monster

Check
In short Use corners and narrow corridors to break line of sight, then confirm the monster has moved on before resuming your run.

When a monster spots you, duck around as many corners as you can manage in quick succession. Narrow passages work in your favour because they make it harder for the monster to close the gap. After the monster disappears from view, keep moving a little further rather than stopping right around the corner. If you are carrying a lot of materials, prioritise heading toward the Scrapper over ducking into unexplored rooms.

  • Head for corridors you have already walked so you know what is ahead of you.
  • Chain corners together rather than running one long straight stretch.
  • Use narrow passages to put distance between yourself and the monster.
  • After losing the monster visually, travel a bit further before checking that it has changed direction.
  • When your inventory is heavy with materials, treat reaching the Scrapper as the top priority over any other escape route.
06

Using the Radar and the Anti-Entity Cube

Step
In short Check the Radar before entering unknown rooms, and place the Cube in a tight corridor between you and the monster — not under your own feet.

The Radar is available at the purchase terminal for Golds. Its purpose is to help you choose a safe direction at a junction, not to navigate while running. The Anti-Entity Cube buys you a few seconds of escape time but is not a guaranteed shield, especially in open rooms where a monster can go around it.

  1. Check before you commit open the Radar at a junction or before stepping into a room you have never entered.
  2. Close it before moving decide your direction from the Radar screen, then look up and walk rather than moving while watching the display.
  3. Place the Cube between you and the monster find the narrowest corridor in that stretch of hallway and set it there.
  4. Leave immediately after placing do not stand next to the Cube waiting to see if it works.
  5. Treat the Cube as a delay, not a wall in wide rooms a monster can go around it, so keep moving.
07

Troubleshooting common problems

Check
In short Most early-game problems trace back to either skipping the Scrapper step or pushing too far before the return route is memorised.

If something in the game is not working the way you expect, run through this list before assuming the game is broken. The most common mistakes are carrying materials without converting them and wandering so far that the path back to the Scrapper is no longer clear.

  • Golds not increasing confirm you put the materials into the Scrapper and watched the currency display update; picking them up is not enough.
  • Losing materials every run cut your collection to one or two items and return to the Scrapper before any monster contact.
  • Lost in the lab focus only on reaching the nearest landmark and work back to the Scrapper one segment at a time.
  • Cannot find the purchase terminal check whether you are in the standard lab mode; other modes may have a different layout.
  • Item not working check your inventory slot, the use button, and whether the item needs a valid surface or position.
  • Performance issues lower your graphics settings and switch to a less crowded server.

Redeem codes and spending Golds vs. Robux

Summary
In short The core gameplay loop — collecting materials, converting them, and buying equipment — runs entirely on Golds with no Robux required.

Lethal Ape occasionally releases codes that grant in-game rewards. Enter them in the code field on the lobby screen, and enter them promptly because some codes expire or are single-use. Everything needed to play the game — material collection, Scrapper conversion, Radar purchase — costs Golds. Robux purchases are mostly cosmetic items and permanent game passes. Before buying anything, check the currency symbol to make sure you know which type of currency is being charged.

  • Code entry lobby screen, code input field; enter exactly as provided.
  • Code lifespan some expire or allow only one use, so redeem quickly.
  • Golds purchases materials, Scrapper use, Radar, and equipment from the terminal.
  • Robux purchases cosmetic items and permanent game passes.
  • Same-name caution some items exist in both a Golds version and a Robux version; confirm the currency mark before confirming.
09

Safety while playing

Warn
In short Protect your personal information and your account; the monsters in the game are the only danger you should have to worry about.

Lethal Ape runs on public servers with up to twenty players. That means strangers can contact you through text chat. Stick to official sources for codes and never share account details with other players.

Worth watching out for
Never type your real name, school, address, or social media handles into chat.
Do not use cheat scripts or exploit tools they risk account bans and can expose your device to harm.
Ignore links or codes sent by players you do not know; get codes only from official sources.
Never share your password or login details with any other player.
If the horror atmosphere feels overwhelming, turn the volume down or play in a well-lit room.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens if a monster catches me?

You lose the unconverted materials you were carrying, wiping out your current run.

Can I play alone?

Yes — collecting materials, converting them at the Scrapper, and buying equipment all work fine solo. Playing alone is good practice for learning the lab layout at your own pace. If you play with others, you can split duties between exploring and keeping watch.

Is gold the same thing as Golds?

No, they are different. Gold is one of the three raw materials you pick up off the floor in the lab. Golds is the currency you receive after feeding any material into the Scrapper. You cannot buy anything with gold sitting in your inventory.

Do materials respawn in the same spots?

Yes, materials reappear at the same locations. Once you find a reliable shelf or corner, it will keep producing on future runs.

Does this game have voice chat?

Voice chat is not supported in Lethal Ape. If you want to coordinate with other players, use text chat — but never type personal information like your real name or contact details into the chat window.
