Absolvement is a roguelite dungeon crawler on Roblox where you build a character from over 130 abilities, push into dungeons, and grow stronger run after run. This guide covers how the core loop works, how to tune the difficulty to your level, and how the Soul Tree keeps your progress moving forward even after your character falls.
In shortEvery run follows the same rhythm: build a character, fight through dungeons, and carry your Soul Fragments into the next attempt.
Absolvement has no class system, so you are never locked into a role before you understand the game. You pick abilities freely, combine them for synergies, and adjust the challenge to suit where you are right now. When a run ends, the Soul Fragments you earned go straight into the Soul Tree, making your next character a little stronger from the start.

Set your difficultychoose your sins, affixes, and burdens before you enter so the challenge matches your skill level.
Fight through dungeonspush as far as you can, looking for ability combinations that work together.
Wipe and collectwhen your character falls, you earn Soul Fragments; nothing about that resource is lost.
Open the Soul Treespend your fragments on buffs for your next character and plan a stronger build for the next run.
In shortSins, affixes, and burdens let you dial the game up or down, so both new players and veterans can find a fair challenge.
Three separate levers control how hard each run feels. You can stack them for a brutal experience or leave them low while you learn the game. Because you set them yourself before a run, nothing locks you into a difficulty you cannot handle.
Sins
one layer of difficulty you choose when setting up a run.
Affixes
a second layer that changes the conditions of a run.
Burdens
a third layer that adjusts how fast or slowly you progress.
Solo play
you control all three settings entirely on your own terms.
Party play
up to five players share the same run under the same settings.

In shortSoul Fragments are permanent, so every run you finish — whether it goes well or not — moves the Soul Tree forward.
The Soul Tree is what separates Absolvement from a game where failure just resets everything. The 200+ buffs you unlock there carry over to every character you make from that point on, compounding over time.
Tips worth knowing
Soul Fragments are never lost between runs, so a short failed run still contributes.
Buffs unlocked in the Soul Tree stay active for every future character, not just the next one.
With 200+ buffs available, you can steer the tree toward the playstyle you want rather than filling it randomly.
05
Solo play versus party play
Table
In shortBoth modes are fully supported, and the difficulty system works in either one.
Whether you prefer to experiment quietly on your own or coordinate with friends, the game is designed around both styles equally.
Solo
full control over pacing, difficulty settings, and ability experimentation with no coordination needed.
Party
up to five players per group, opening room for ability synergies across multiple characters.
Difficulty
adjustable in both modes, so neither format forces you into an unfair challenge.

Common questions
FAQ
Do I have to pick a class before I play?
No. Absolvement has no class system at all. You pick freely from over 130 abilities and build however you want, so you are not locked into a role before you understand the game.
What happens when my character dies?
Your character wipes and you earn Soul Fragments. You then spend those fragments in the Soul Tree to unlock buffs that apply to your next character and every character after that, so losing a run always moves you forward.
Is the game hard if I am just starting out?
The difficulty is entirely in your hands. Sins, affixes, and burdens are settings you choose before each run, so you can keep them low while you learn and raise them once you are comfortable.
Can I play this without spending Robux?
Yes. Abilities, Soul Tree buffs, and all difficulty options are unlocked through normal gameplay. No purchase gives one player an advantage over another.
