First steps when you start out
StepWhen you first load in, work through the tutorial to get the basics of movement and shooting down. After that, jump into matches and focus on getting kills — reaching 40 kills and winning at least one match unlocks the Rewards screen and everything tied to it. Once those conditions are met, tap the Rewards icon at the bottom of the screen to collect what you have earned.
- Complete the tutorial this is where you learn aiming, movement, and reloading before facing real opponents.
- Join matches and start earning kills the 40-kill milestone is your first major unlock gate.
- Win one match focus on kills to pile up points, but keep an eye on whatever the win condition is for that mode.
- Open the Rewards icon once both conditions are met, head to the icon at the bottom of the screen to claim your rewards.
- Invite a friend bringing someone new to the game earns you the Ambassador reward when they join.
How coins and weapons work
SummaryEvery kill you land and every match you win adds coins to your total. Those coins are the main currency for unlocking new weapons in the shop. Weapons differ in recoil, range, and reload speed, so try a few before committing to one.
Game modes and special play situations
TipsCombat Arena runs more than one game mode, and what counts as good play changes depending on which one you are in. One in the Chamber in particular flips the usual rules on their head. The Champion system means the player with the most kills at the end of a match carries that title into the next one.
- In One in the Chamber, getting a full magazine of kills through melee alone is a real challenge worth attempting once you are confident in close-quarters fighting.
- Shooting down an enemy drone is its own objective — keep your aim on moving aerial targets, not just ground opponents.
- The Champion title goes to whoever ends a match with the most knockouts, who then carries that status into the next match.
Positioning and streak habits
CheckKill streaks grow more powerful the longer you keep them going, so dying resets progress you cannot easily buy back. Smart positioning is what keeps the streak alive.
- Control corridors and corners early reaching a strong angle before the enemy does means you shoot first.
- Reload behind cover letting an opponent see your reload animation hands them a free kill.
- Use cover actively during gunfights rather than standing in the open and trading shots.
Redeem codes and the Rewards screen
StepThe code entry box only becomes available after you hit 40 kills and win one match. Once you qualify, open the Rewards icon at the bottom of the screen, type the code exactly as written, and press Claim. Codes can expire or run out of uses, so redeem any you find as soon as possible. This site currently tracks two working codes — check the codes section of this page for the current list.
- Reach 40 kills and win one match without both, the Rewards screen will not let you enter a code.
- Open the Rewards icon it sits at the bottom of the screen once you qualify.
- Type the code exactly capitalisation matters, so copy it carefully.
- Press Claim if the code is valid and still active, the reward is added immediately.
- Use codes quickly they can expire or hit a redemption limit at any time.
Hidden details worth knowing
WarnA few things in Combat Arena catch new players off guard. The lobby enforces its own rules — attempting to leave through an unauthorised exit can get your character killed by the arena's security. There is also a terminal that lets you read a hidden research log, so explore carefully. The creature or object described as meaning you no harm is best left alone.

Common questions
FAQCan free-to-play players unlock good weapons?
Coins come from kills and match wins during normal play, and the shop's weapons are purchasable with coins. Crates also offer legendary skins and more that are not sold in the shop.
Why can't I open the code entry box?
The Rewards screen and its code entry field only unlock after you have reached 40 kills and won at least one match. Complete those two goals first, then the Rewards icon at the bottom of the screen will let you in. Once it is open, type your code exactly and hit Claim.
What should I do if my kill count is not improving?
The two most common causes are not knowing where enemies appear on the map and using a weapon whose recoil or range does not suit how you play. Spend a few matches focusing only on learning one map's layout, and try swapping to a different weapon to see if your accuracy improves. Taking cover during reloads also makes a noticeable difference.
Does the game work on mobile and console?
Combat Arena supports PC, console, and smartphones with full native cross-platform compatibility, so players on different devices share the same servers. You and a friend can play together regardless of what device either of you is on.
What happens when I prestige?
The first time you prestige, you earn the Here We Go Again badge.
