Horse Life is an open-world Roblox game by Sonar Studios where you tame wild horses, breed them for rare traits, and build your own stable. This guide walks you through your first steps, how breeding and mutations work, what to do during the Carnival Event, and how to keep progressing without spending Robux.
In shortFinishing the tutorial gives you a tamed horse, a bred foal, and two starter missions that point you toward everything else in the game.
When you first load in, you choose one of three starter species. A Cowboy Horse guide then walks you through using string lassos to tame a nearby horse, with cyan arrows showing you where to go. After that you breed your two horses and claim the foal. Once the tutorial ends, two missions unlock: Getting Started, which covers basic taming, breeding, and mission completion, and Finding Your Way, which introduces harvest nodes and more taming and breeding practice.

In shortEach map has a distinct purpose, so knowing which one to visit saves you time.
Horse Life has three separate maps. The Carnival Realm, added during the 2025 event, is a fourth world accessible by a physical portal in the Main Realm or through the Event button, though the Event button always drops you into a public server rather than your private one.
Main World
the primary exploration area where wild horses spawn and quests are found.
Market World
the trading hub where you buy and sell items with other players.
Competitor Hub
the racing and activities zone where you compete against other players.

In shortBreeding is the main path to rare mutations, so collecting a variety of horses early sets you up well.
Wild species can appear as either foals or adults. Once you have horses, you can breed them together to produce foals with different colors, sizes, and traits. Mutations can appear through breeding and include rare results such as the Astral. Traits like horns, cosmetics, and patterns are unique to each species and affect both a horse's visual appeal and its monetary value. Harvest nodes are scattered across biomes and drop rare foods and resources that help with taming and can speed up breeding cooldowns.
Tips worth knowing
Wild horses can spawn as foals or adults, so check age when you find one.
Breeding produces foals with varying colors, sizes, and traits inherited from the parents.
Rare mutations like the Astral can appear through breeding.
Horns, patterns, and cosmetic traits affect both appearance and in-game value.
Harvest nodes in different biomes drop foods and resources that can speed up breeding cooldowns.

NPCs, quests, and earning without Robux
Check
In shortNPC quests are your most reliable free source of coins and items, so checking them regularly is worth the habit.
Multiple NPCs across the maps offer quests and run their own shops. Completing quests rewards you with items and currency. The Market World lets you trade with other players. Seasonal events add new quests and exclusive rewards on a recurring basis.
Talk to NPCs on each map and check whether their quest list has refreshed.
Visit Market World regularly to trade items you have surplus of for ones you need.
Join seasonal events during their active windows to earn limited rewards unavailable elsewhere.

The Carnival Event
Summary
In shortTickets are everything during the Carnival Event, so split your time between missions and mini-games to earn them steadily.
The Carnival Event uses Tickets as its currency instead of standard coins. You earn Tickets by completing missions, finishing mini-games inside the Carnival Realm, or selling Carousels. Missions award between 25 and 75 Tickets per completed objective, reset every 24 hours, and their streak rewards can drop Cotton Candy or Popcorn themed equipment. The event also has a bingo-style progression system: earning points from quests fills a meter that unlocks rewards and opens a bonus set of three extra quests. A premium reward track exists and can be unlocked after earning at least one point. Carousel is the event's exclusive species and also functions as a Ticket source when sold, though each Carousel costs 50 Tickets during the event and sells for 30.
Tickets the event currency earned from missions, mini-games, or selling Carousels.
Missions complete objectives for 25–75 Tickets each; they reset every 24 hours.
Streak rewards maintaining a mission streak can drop Cotton Candy or Popcorn equipment.
Progression meter quest points fill it to unlock rewards and a bonus quest set.
Premium track unlockable after earning one point; it is a one-time purchase covering the full track.
Carnival Horse a special developer-preset horse named Confetti that spawns anywhere in the Carnival Realm, is announced server-wide with a red ticket icon, and disappears once tamed; a replacement spawns ten minutes after capture.
In shortUse the physical portal, not the teleport button, if you want to stay in your private server during the event.
The Event teleport button on the right side of the screen always sends you into a public server, even if you started in a private one. To reach the Carnival Realm and stay in your private server, walk through the physical portal located in the Main Realm instead.
Worth watching out for
The Event button ignores private server status and drops you in a public server.
The physical portal in the Main Realm is the only way to enter the Carnival Realm and keep your private server session.

Common questions
FAQ
How do I get the Carnival Realm on a private server?
Walk through the physical portal in the Main Realm. The Event teleport button on the right side of the screen sends you to a public server regardless of where you started, so the portal is the only option for private sessions.
How do rare mutations like the Astral appear?
They come up through breeding and are not guaranteed.
What happens to a Carnival Horse after someone tames it?
The whole server sees a notification with a grey broken heart icon, and the chat also announces it. A new Carnival Horse will not spawn until ten minutes after the previous one was tamed.
