First things to do when you join

Step
In short Spend your first few minutes setting up your character and getting a feel for the city before committing to a role.

The game drops you straight into the city, so it helps to sort out the basics before anything else. Head into the avatar editor to set your look — clothes, hair, and skin tone are all adjustable from the menu. Once you look the way you want, walk around and get a sense of what's where.

  1. Open the avatar editor change your character's appearance before you do anything else.
  2. Explore on foot walk around the city to see which of the 60+ locations catch your interest.
  3. Pick a starting role school, hospital, police station, and bank are all good entry points.
  4. Invite a friend a lot of the best scenarios need at least two players to really work.
  5. Equip a prop open your inventory and put on your first roleplay item to unlock the Bag of Tricks badge.
  6. Try an emote use one from the menu to get comfortable with the expression controls.

Table

Vettreat sick animals at the vet clinic.
Police officerpatrol the city, chase criminals, and make arrests.
Bank robberbreak into the bank vault and escape with the money, best done with friends.

Locations worth visiting early

Check
In short Checking off these spots gives you a solid map of the city and unlocks several badges along the way.

The city has more than 60 places to visit, but a handful of them come up in almost every playthrough. Hitting these early means you understand the layout and have more options when planning sessions with friends.

  • Highland Park High School needed for the student role and the School Day badge.
  • Hospital required for surgery roleplay and the Emergency Visit badge.
  • Bank the vault inside is the target for the Vault Break badge.
  • Hotel book a room to unlock the Stay-cation badge.
  • Airport board the plane for the Sky High badge; fly the helicopter for Get To The Chopper.
  • Boardwalk play a boardwalk game for the 100% Skill Based badge and ride the Ferris Wheel for On The World.
  • Underground area explore below the city for the What Lies Below badge.
  • Spa and Zephora visit both for the Spa Day and Makeover badges.
04

Playing with friends

Tips
In short Deciding on roles and a rough scenario before you start makes group sessions run much smoother.

The game is designed around group roleplay, and splitting roles between players is what makes the bigger scenarios work. A bank robbery needs both robbers and police; a hospital scene needs a doctor and a patient. Talking through who plays what before you load in saves a lot of confusion.

Tips worth knowing
  • Split roles before the session starts — agree on who is the doctor, who is the patient, and so on.
  • Use a specific location as your anchor — picking one place like the school or the bank keeps everyone focused.
  • Try opposing roles — cop versus criminal or hero versus villain creates natural tension in the story.
  • Change locations between rounds — with 60+ spots available, you can run a different scenario every time.
  • The Better Together badge unlocks just by playing with a friend, so bring someone along early.
05

Character and vehicle customisation

Tips
In short Customising your character and car early helps you get into your role and earn several badges quickly.

The avatar editor handles your look, and the game also lets you customise the colour of your car. These aren't just cosmetic — some badges are tied directly to using these features.

Tips worth knowing
  • Visit the avatar editor to change your look and earn the New Look badge.
  • Change your car's colour at least once to earn the Add A Little Spice badge.
  • Set your character's age to baby or teen to unlock the Baby Years and Teen Years badges — useful for school roleplay.
  • Equip a roleplay title from the menu to unlock the You've Been Promoted badge.
  • Your home choice sets the scene for your roleplay, so pick one that matches your character's story.
06

What you can do without spending Robux

In short Every role and every location is open to free players; paid items are purely cosmetic extras.

All of the core gameplay — every role, every location, every scenario — is available without purchasing anything. Paid options exist for extra cosmetic items like premium homes and additional clothing, but they don't affect what you can do in the game.

  • All 60+ locations free to visit with no restrictions.
  • All roles student, doctor, police, robber, vet, hero, villain, all free.
  • Basic character customisation free options cover everything you need to set a look.
