Play as Baldi is a Roblox fan game based on Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning, where players split into catchers and students. Catchers chase students around the school map, while students earn YTP by surviving and can spend it on skins or new characters. This guide covers how each role works, which items matter, how to find hidden badges, and how to spend your YTP.
In shortPick catcher if you want to hunt; pick student if you want to earn YTP and survive.
Every round, players choose a side before the action starts. Catchers move through the map and collide with students to catch them. Students try to stay alive, and every moment they survive earns them YTP they can spend in the shop.
Catcher
collide with students to catch them; goal is to clear the map
Student
dodge catchers, pick up items, and earn YTP the whole time you survive
YTP
the currency students earn; spend it on skins or to unlock new characters
Free catchers
Baldi and Null are available to everyone from the start
Hidden shop
golden characters like Golden Null and Golden Bully are sold here separately
In shortBaldi moves faster after students collect notebooks, so use those moments to close the gap.
Baldi is one of the two free catchers and a good starting point. He moves forward each time his ruler slaps, hears every sound on the map, and can tell exactly which player made it. When a student picks up a notebook, Baldi gets a temporary speed boost.
Tips worth knowing
Jump when slapping your ruler to get a short speed burst.
Use your sound detection to track where students are hiding instead of wandering blind.
Target students who do not have an Apple first, since an Apple stops you from catching them immediately.
If a student does have an Apple, still chase them so another catcher can close in while you eat.
When notebooks are being collected, take advantage of your speed boost to close distance fast.

In shortGood item use and sound awareness keep you alive far longer than running alone.
Students are slower than most catchers when sprinting, so smart play matters more than speed. Learn each catcher's tells and keep items ready before you need them.
Listen for Baldi's ruler slaps to track his direction before he appears around a corner.
Pick up an Apple whenever you find oneif Baldi catches you while you have one, he stops to eat it instead of eliminating you.
Apples are rare and single-use, so save one for a true emergency rather than spending it early.
When Golden Null starts his Enrage transition, he slows down brieflysprint away during that window.
Spray Golden Null with a BSODA, Diet BSODA, or Holy Soda to shake his pursuit.

Playing as Null and Golden Null
Tips
In shortBoth Null variants rely on the Enrage ability for speed, and Golden Null adds window-breaking shortcuts on top of that.
Null is a free catcher whose base speed is slower than a walking student, so his Enrage ability is essential. Golden Null is sold in the hidden shop and can smash through windows to take shortcuts across the map. When no students are nearby, Golden Null's ability charges 1.4 times faster than normal.
Tips worth knowing
Activate Enrage when a student is in sight so the speed boost actually closes the gap.
Break windows as Golden Null to cut corners students cannot pass through.
Step away from a chase for a moment to let Golden Null's ability recharge at 1.4 times speed.
Work with other players to assist in catching students.
As a student, use Null's random voice lines to figure out his rough position on the map.

Helpers and support characters
Summary
In shortHelpers change the round for both sides, so know what each one does before you react to them.
Several characters are neither pure catchers nor students. They affect the match by trapping, teleporting, or protecting.
Playtime traps students in a five-jump rope game; students must complete five jumps to beat it
Arts and Crafters teleports students who touch him to a random entrance; screaming during Enrage can drown out other sounds
Magician Student uses a wand to help nearby students
Gold'n Crafters teleports a student to a random exit when his ability is active; listen for the hissing sound to know it is on
Golden Bully blocks students and catchers
Pabsi a catcher who moves at walking pace but can collect items and slap through thin walls and locked doors

Finding secret badges
Step
In shortMost secret badges require you to reach a specific hidden spot, so explore every corner of the map.
Many badges are tied to locations or objects you have to actively hunt for. Working through them also unlocks skins you cannot buy with YTP.
