Psychic combat basics
Tips
Every character with psychic ability, including Eleven and Vecna, fights by picking up objects scattered around the map and hurling them at opponents. Vecna players have an extra goal on top of this: completing a Curse, which earns its own badge.
- Pick up objects around the map and throw them to deal damage — that is how psychic combat works here
- Playing as Vecna, finishing a Curse earns you the Completed a Curse badge
Portals, the Upside Down, and the Void
Step
Portals in Hawkins connect to the Upside Down, and working with them — entering, then sealing — is the backbone of progression. Beyond the Upside Down lies the Void, a place outside reality where light does not reach.
- Find a portal search the Hawkins map until you locate one of the portals
- Enter the Upside Down step through the portal to cross over and earn the Upside Down badge
- Seal the portal close it to earn the Portal Closing badge and stop the Upside Down from breaking through
- Reach the Void fall beyond reality into the Void to unlock The Void badge
