Getting into your first game
StepThe game drops you into a tense 1v1 setup, but you do not have to face a real player right away. A bot mode is built in, so you can practice until you are ready. The rules are also posted inside the game itself, so check them before your first match.
- Create a closed room open the room creation screen and select 'Create a closed room'.
- Read the rules the in-game RULES section explains the basic flow before you risk a real match.
- Start against a bot press the start button inside your closed room and the game will match you with a bot.
- Play your first round finishing any game earns you the '21' badge and gets you familiar with the pace.
- Win five times doing so earns the 'Maniac' badge.
The four trump card categories
TipsTrump cards are described as the cornerstone of the game. They are split into Add Number, Go For, Bet, and Deck categories.
- Bet trumps like One-Up and Shield raise or lower the bet counter, changing how dangerous each round is.
- Destroy and Reincarnation can cancel an opponent's active trump — keeping that in mind shapes when you play your own cards.
- One-Up and Shield can be used as blockers: playing one forces your opponent to spend a Destroy or Reincarnation on it instead of your more important trump.
Using One-Up and Shield effectively
TableOne-Up and Shield are mirror images of each other inside the Bet category. Both stack with similar cards, and both are cancelled by Destroy or Reincarnation.
| One-Up | raises the bet by 1, stacks with other One-Up or Two-Up cards already in play. |
| Shield | lowers the bet by 1, stacks with other Shield or Shield+ cards already in play. |
| Offensive timing | if your opponent's counter sits at 4 and the bet is 3, one One-Up makes a loss immediately fatal for them. |
| Defensive timing | if your tally is 5 and your counter is also 5, a Shield means a lost round won't eliminate you. |
| Blocker use | playing either card forces a Destroy or Reincarnation to spend itself there, protecting a more valuable trump behind it. |
Perfect Draw and Exchange
TipsThese two trumps change what ends up in your hand. Both reward patience — using them too early gives your opponent information or wastes the effect.
- Perfect Draw pulls the single best remaining card from the deck to reach your target number, so it fails silently if no such card exists.
- If Perfect Draw gives you something other than the exact gap you needed, that tells you your opponent already holds the card that would have fit.
- Using Perfect Draw early in the game reveals information about your hidden card to any opponent who can do basic math.
- Exchange swaps your most recently drawn card with your opponent's most recently drawn card — most effective late in the game when card values matter most.
- Waiting until the last moment with Exchange can completely flip the outcome of a round.
Mistakes that keep you losing
WarnLosing five games earns the 'Unlucky' badge, which is fine. What matters more is figuring out why each loss happened so you stop repeating it.
