Chapter structure and main goals
SummaryTwo chapters are currently in the game. Each chapter contains note-hunting and story puzzles. Finishing a chapter and collecting all its notes are tracked separately, so you can earn multiple badges from a single chapter.
- Chapter 1 clear earns the Above and Beyond badge
- Chapter 1 notes (all) earns the Bookworm badge
- Chapter 2 notes (all) earns the Bookworm 2.0 badge
- Computer access earns the Encrypted badge
- Chapter 1 on Hard Mode (Halloween Special) earns the Circus Chaos badge

TipsHard Mode is part of the Halloween Special update. The Circus Chaos badge requires you to clear Chapter 1 with Hard Mode switched on.

- A self-contained story segment of the game; Jack's Circus currently has two chapters, each with its own notes and completion badge.
- Jumpscare
- A sudden scare moment that combines a loud sound with a startling visual — these happen frequently throughout both chapters.
- Hard Mode
- An increased-difficulty setting for Chapter 1 that is available during the Halloween Special and rewards the Circus Chaos badge on completion.
- Encrypted
- A badge earned by finding and accessing the in-game computer.
