About

Overview

Plane Crazy is a physics sandbox game where you build planes, cars, boats, rockets, trains, mechs, and more, then fly or drive them yourself. You can battle other players in PvP or build peacefully with friends. This guide walks you through the interface, building your first plane, fixing common problems, and getting more out of the game.

Building your first plane, step by step

Step
In short Follow the order below and you will have a flyable plane at the end of it.

Open the Build Tool, then tap the Basic Building Blocks button at the top of the panel that appears. Select the Block option to get started. The large arrow painted on the ground shows the direction you should build toward — follow it, or you may run into control problems later.

  1. Lay the fuselage place six blocks pointing in the direction the arrow shows
  2. Add propulsion and a seat place the Propeller Engine and the Main Pilot Seat on the fuselage
  3. Attach control surfaces find the wing-icon section and add control surfaces; the grey part of each control surface must face backward, or your controls will be inverted
  4. Add lift place wing panels (rectangular) and delta wings (triangular) to give the craft enough lift for steady flight
  5. Check center of mass and lift these two must line up well, or the plane will be unstable, especially as your builds get bigger
  6. Save your work use the floppy-disk icon in the bottom left before you launch
05

When your craft will not fly

Check
In short Center of mass and center of lift are absolutely essential in aircraft building.

If your craft crashes, spins, or refuses to leave the ground, work through this list before rebuilding from scratch. Control surfaces have less lift than wings, so a plane built with only control surfaces will be hard to fly steadily.

  • Engine count matches the craft's weight
  • Wings are large enough to generate the lift the craft needs
  • Parts are distributed so the center of mass lines up with the center of lift
  • Control surfaces are facing the right way grey side backward
06

Choosing between Classic and PVP

Tips
In short Switch between Classic and PVP using the Controller button on the right-side panel.

Both modes are accessible through the Controller button on the right-side panel.

Tips worth knowing
  • Use PVP mode when you want to fight other players with your craft
  • Use Classic (Non-PVP) mode when you want to build with friends or fly without combat
07

Getting more out of your designs

Tips
In short The sandbox supports planes, cars, boats, rockets, trains, mechs, and machines — and nothing stops you combining more than one type into a single craft.

Large builds like airliners are often assembled in segments and use motors or magnets to fold out.

Tips worth knowing
  • Try combining vehicle types — the game supports planes, cars, boats, rockets, trains, mechs, and machines
  • Bombers and large airliners often use motors to unfold sections too big to spawn in one piece
  • The configuration tool lets you remap controls on individual parts
08

Gamepass features and free-to-play standing

Summary
In short Every building and combat feature that affects performance is free; gamepasses add convenience and cosmetics.

All the core parts — engines, wings, control surfaces, and seats — are available to everyone at no cost. PVP and Classic modes are both fully playable without spending anything. The two notable gamepass items visible in the interface are the Jetpack, which makes building easier by letting you fly around the map, and the Spacemine, which places an explosive.

  • Basic parts all free, including engines, wings, and control surfaces
  • PVP and Classic modes both free
  • Jetpack gamepass item that lets you fly while building
  • Spacemine gamepass item that places an explosive
  • Save slots free and unlimited

Glossary

Glossary
Center of mass
The balance point of your craft; if it does not line up with the center of lift, the plane will be unstable or uncontrollable.
Center of lift
The point where all the lift from your wings acts; it needs to match the center of mass for steady flight.
Control surface
A movable panel that steers the craft; the grey side must face backward or the controls reverse.
Configuration Tool
A tool that lets you change the keybinds or settings on parts that support custom parameters.
Fuselage
The main body of the plane, made by placing blocks in a row along the direction the ground arrow points.
Delta wing
A triangular wing panel used to add lift to a craft.
Classic mode
The non-combat game mode where you build and fly without fighting other players.

Common questions

FAQ

Why does my plane spin or crash right after launch?

The most common causes are uneven engine placement, wings that are too small, and a center of mass that does not line up with the center of lift. Check that your engines are balanced and add more wing area if needed. Note that control surfaces have less lift than proper wing panels.

Do I need to spend Robux to compete in PVP?

No. All the parts that affect performance — engines, wings, and control surfaces — are free for every player. Gamepass items like the Jetpack and Spacemine exist, but the core PVP experience does not require them.

How do I save my build so I do not lose it?

Tap the floppy-disk icon in the bottom left corner to open the save menu. Save slots are unlimited, so you can keep as many builds as you like.

What is the difference between wing panels and control surfaces?

Wing panels and delta wings generate lift and keep the craft stable in the air. Control surfaces are movable panels that let you steer; they produce less lift than proper wings. A plane built with only control surfaces and no wing panels will be hard to fly steadily.
