Keys, doors, and notes

Check
In short Keys and notes open the paths you need and tell you why the Mouse is dangerous.

Keys unlock doors that block access to new areas. Notes are scattered around the map and reveal the story behind the Mouse. Reading even one note unlocks the 'A note...?' badge, and the notes together explain what happened to the Mouse's creator.

  • Find keys to unlock doors.
  • Read notes found around the map they reveal the story behind the Mouse.

Surviving the Mouse

Warn
In short Getting caught forces a reset or a revive, so avoiding the Mouse is always worth the extra effort.

The Mouse actively hunts you throughout the map. If it catches you, the game prompts you to either reset your run entirely or use a revive to get back up.

Worth watching out for
Getting caught means you must reset or revive.
Crouch with CTRL (PC), B (Xbox), or O (PlayStation) to hide from the Mouse.

Mouse traps and shop items

Summary
In short Mouse traps are an in-game tool you can place, while shop purchases are purely cosmetic and never required to finish the game.

Placing your first mouse trap earns you the 'Place your first mouse trap' badge. The shop sells items described as fun things to use with friends — none of them affect whether you can complete the game or reach the exit.

  • Mouse trap a placeable item that earns a badge on first use.
  • Shop items cosmetic only, with no effect on game progress.
  • Free rewards available through codes redeemed in settings.
  • Chapter 1 completion earns its own badge and marks a clear milestone.
