About

Overview

Build to Survive the Tsunami is a Roblox survival game where you stack blocks to build the tallest base you can before a wave rolls in and the water starts rising. Each round you earn credits for surviving, which you spend on better blocks for the next round. This guide covers the building phase, staying alive when the water hits, spending credits, and working with friends.

How a round works

Step
In short Every round follows the same two-phase loop: build fast, then climb high.

Each round opens with a building phase. Use that window to place blocks and raise your base as high as you can. When the phase ends, the tsunami arrives and the water level climbs steadily. Any player still above the waterline when the round ends earns credits. Then the cycle starts again.

  1. Building phase place blocks to raise walls and a climbable tower before time runs out.
  2. Tsunami phase water rises continuously, so move upward to stay above it.
  3. Survival check players who are still above water when the round closes earn credits.
  4. Credit spend take those credits and unlock new block types.

Getting started: your first few rounds

Check
In short Put up a wall, then stack a tower you can actually climb.

When you first join, choose a spot and focus on two things: a wall and a tower with ramps or steps so you can reach the top quickly. Treat the first few rounds as practice for figuring out how high you need to go.

  • Build a wall before working on height.
  • Stack a tower with ramps or stair-shaped blocks so you can reach the top when the water rises.
  • After each failed attempt, check whether your tower's peak was actually above the waterline at the end.
03

Building faster and smarter

Tips
In short Deciding your shape before the phase starts is the single biggest speed improvement you can make.

The building phase is short, and hesitating wastes it. Simple shapes are almost always better than clever ones when time is tight.

Tips worth knowing
  • Decide on a shape — tower, bunker, or tall walled platform — before each round starts, not during it.
  • Place the same block type repeatedly rather than mixing types.
  • Use ramps on at least one face of every tower so climbing to the top is quick under pressure.
04

Why you keep getting washed away

Check
In short Almost every wipeout comes down to one of two problems: not building high enough, or not using the building phase efficiently.

If the water keeps reaching you, run through this checklist before changing anything else.

  • Peak height was the very top of your structure above the water at the end of the round, or did the water eventually catch up?
  • Build time did you spend any of the building phase standing still, repositioning, or correcting ramp direction?
  • Ramp direction are all your ramps oriented so you can actually walk up them toward the top?
05

Spending credits on new blocks

Summary
In short Survival comes first; upgrades make it easier, not possible.

Every round you survive pays out credits, and you can spend those credits to unlock new block types. The starting blocks are enough to survive if your shape and height are good.

  • Credits earned one payout per round survived.
  • Starter blocks fully capable of getting you through rounds when your build plan is solid.
06

Playing with friends

Tips
In short Split the work at the start of every round so nobody duplicates effort.

When you play with other people, splitting into roles from the first second of the building phase gets your base much taller than everyone doing the same thing in different spots. Make sure every ramp faces in a direction that all players can use.

Tips worth knowing
  • Agree on one building site before the phase starts so you are all working on the same structure.
  • Assign one person to extend height and another to fill wall gaps so neither job gets neglected.
  • Make sure every ramp your group places can be climbed by the whole group, not just the builder.
  • Build the tower together rather than spreading across the map, so no one is left without a way up when the wave hits.

Table
In short The badge trail from 1 to 1000 survived rounds gives you a long-term goal to chase.

The game tracks how many tsunamis you have survived and awards badges at set thresholds.

Common questions

FAQ

What should I do in the very first building phase?

Put up a wall, then stack a tower with ramps so you can climb it when the water rises.

Can I do well without spending credits on new blocks?

Yes. The starting blocks are enough to survive rounds when your build shape and height are solid.

How do my friends and I avoid getting in each other's way?

Agree on a single build site and split roles before the building phase begins — one person on height, another on walls. Make sure every ramp is placed so the whole group can use it.

Why does the water reach my base even though I built a tall tower?

Check two things: whether the very top of your tower was actually above the final waterline, and whether you used the full building phase or spent some of it standing still.
