Basic rules before your first guess

In short
Knowing the three rules up front saves you from wasting early guesses.
Every round gives you a secret five-letter English word and six chances to guess it. After each guess, the game colors every letter to tell you how close you are. Run out of tries without guessing correctly and the challenge ends, but you can jump straight into a new word.
- Your guess must be a real English word with exactly five letters
- Type your guess on the keyboard and submit it to get your clues
- You have six guesses total the counter does not reset mid-round
- A failed round ends the challenge, but a new word starts immediately after

What the three colors mean

Reading the colors correctly is the single most important skill in Wordie.
Each letter in your guess gets one of three colors. Act on all three every time you guess.

| Yellow | Right letter, wrong position | Use that letter again but move it to a different spot |

Going through each condition one by one clears up the confusion faster than staring at the board.
As clues pile up, it is easy to overlook one. Before you type your next guess, run through this list.
- Every green letter is sitting in its confirmed position in your next guess
- Every yellow letter appears somewhere in the word and not in the spot where it turned yellow
- No grey letter has crept back into your guess
- Your guess is exactly five letters long
- The word you are about to submit is a real English word, not something you invented

Wins, plays, and the badge milestones

In short
Progress adds up naturally the more rounds you play, whether you win or not.
Wordie tracks both how many words you have attempted and how many you have won. Badges mark each milestone, so every session counts toward something even if a round does not go your way.
- First win earn it by solving your very first word correctly
- 10 wins / 100 wins keep playing and winning; these unlock automatically as the count climbs
- 10 plays / 100 words attempting words counts here, so even a failed round moves you forward
- 1v1 win beat an opponent in a one-on-one match to claim this badge
- 40 minutes played simply spend 40 minutes in the game across your sessions

- A head-to-head mode where two players compete, with its own badge for winning.
Common questions
FAQDoes Wordie track how many times I have won?
Yes. The game awards badges at one win, ten wins, and one hundred wins, so your total is always reflected in your badge collection.
What happens when I use all six guesses without solving the word?
The challenge ends and you can start fresh with a new hidden word. Failed rounds still count toward your play-count badges.
How do I get the 1v1 Win badge?
You need to win a one-on-one match against another player.
