The Noob Experiment Battlefront — How the game works
About
OverviewThe Noob Experiment Battlefront is a PvE co-op game where you and other players fight off endless waves of failed noob experiments and other enemies, earning keys to unlock stronger characters as you go. This guide walks you through the character progression ladder, explains the game's modes, and covers the small details — like the Time Essence timer — that most new players miss.

How the game works
SummaryEvery round sends waves of enemies at you and your teammates. Killing enemies earns you keys, which you spend in the shop to unlock new characters. Each character has different abilities, speed, and damage, so upgrading your roster is the main way to push further. Between waves the Intermission Shop opens, letting you buy extra equipment and upgrades before the next wave starts.
- Waves enemies arrive in groups; each wave is harder than the last.
- Keys your main currency, dropped by enemies and used to unlock characters.
- Intermission Shop opens between waves; spend keys or other resources on gear and abilities.
- Endless mode waves never stop; survive as long as you can and beat your own record.
- Boss Rush a separate challenge with secret waves that go beyond the normal mode structure.
Early-game character ladder
StepStarting characters are weak, so the fastest way forward is to grind Easy Mode repeatedly on a private server, banking keys until you can afford the next upgrade. Each character on this ladder is a meaningful jump over the previous one.
- Start as Noob you have 150 HP and low damage; charge in with other Noob players so you share the hits rather than one person absorbing everything.
- Save to 30 keys buy the Guest, whose boombox deals strong damage for this stage of the game.
- Save to 125 keys buy Grappler Noob, who can grapple across the map to dodge enemies.
- Save to 600 keys buy the Dummy, which has a jetpack and a blaster that fires three orbs for 250 damage each.
- Save to 2,000 keys buy Spider Noob, whose laser can reach up to 2,000 damage and whose blaster fires five orbs at 400 damage each.
- Save to 7,000 keys buy Boombox Juggernaut, which can heal you to full health, move very fast, and fly freely; this character can solo Easy Mode.
Grinding keys faster
TipsKeys drop whenever you are alive when a wave ends. That rule creates a useful shortcut on public servers running Boss Rush: join, spawn as any character just before the last enemies die, and you collect the wave reward. Past wave 7 in Boss Rush the key payouts become large enough to speed up progression noticeably. For more controlled grinding, a private server on Easy Mode lets you repeat the same waves without depending on other players.
- You only need to be alive when the wave ends to collect that wave's keys.
- Public Boss Rush servers past wave 7 pay out far more keys per run than early Easy Mode waves.
- A private server on Easy Mode is the most reliable solo grinding method.
Mid-game: Titans and Mechs
TableAfter buying Titan Noob at 30,000 keys, the next decision is picking a Mech. Mechs handle different combat situations in very different ways. If you are targeting Boss Rush secret waves specifically, Nova Mech's invincibility window and 10,000-damage explosion make it stand out. Also note that if Titan Bloxxer is in your server and you die or reset while using Mech Bloxxer, it triggers his rage mode.
| Nova Mech | high damage up close, plus a passive that grants brief invincibility followed by a 10,000-damage explosion; weak at range and against flying enemies. |
| Mech Bloxxer | solid at both close and ranged combat; triggers Titan Bloxxer's rage mode on death or reset. |
| Multiverse Guest Mech 2.0 | blasters and boomboxes for close and mid range; switching to another character and back reloads missiles for free. |
| Multiverse Noob Mech 2.0 | balanced kit with a 750-damage basic attack, a temporary damage-blocking shield, and 5,000-damage lasers. |
| Mech John Doe | minimum viable option for Nightmare Mode and red-screen difficulty. |
Time Essence
WarnTime Essence spawns somewhere in the game world once every hour. It vanishes 20 minutes after spawning, so there is a narrow window to collect it.

Common questions
FAQCan I collect keys without doing most of the fighting?
Yes — you only need to be alive when a wave ends to receive that wave's key reward. On a public server running Boss Rush, spawning just before enemies die on wave 7 or later will earn you a large key payout quickly.
Does my Mech choice matter for specific modes?
Yes. Hard Mode has many flying enemies, which puts Mechs that are weak at range at a disadvantage — Nova Mech in particular struggles there. For Boss Rush secret waves, Nova Mech's high damage and invincibility passive make it one of the stronger picks. Mech Bloxxer works well across most situations.
