Getting started — tutorial and first rolls

Step
In short Finishing the tutorial and rolling early are the two things that set the rest of your progress in motion.

Before anything else, clear the tutorial. Earning the 'Wow I beat the tutorial :3' badge is your signal that you understand the basics and are ready to move on. After that, your main loop is rolling for auras and abilities, then bringing them into PVE fights.

  1. Clear the tutorial to earn the 'Wow I beat the tutorial :3' badge.
  2. Use V to activate your ability during a fight.
  3. Head to Snowdin or Castletown these are the areas where PVE fights are available.
  4. Play on max graphics the game recommends this setting.

Roll milestones worth knowing

Summary
In short Three roll counts unlock badges, giving you long-term targets to aim for while you build your aura collection.

Rolling is random every time. There are more than 100 auras in the game, and badges mark your progress at three specific totals.

  • 1,000 rolls first milestone badge unlocks here.
  • 10,000 rolls second milestone badge unlocks here.
  • 100,000 rolls third and final roll milestone badge unlocks here.

Boss fights and no-hit runs

Tips
In short A time limit exists during boss fights, and taking no damage earns a separate no-hit badge.

PVE fights each have two tiers of reward: a standard clear badge and a harder no-hit badge for finishing without taking any damage. A time limit also applies — drag a fight out too long and you trigger the 'Your taking too long!' badge.

Tips worth knowing
  • Keep pressure on the boss so the fight ends before the timer becomes a problem.
  • Press V whenever your ability is ready.

Bosses available and their badges

Table
In short Several bosses each have a standard clear badge and a separate no-hit badge, so each one is worth fighting twice.

The table below lists the bosses confirmed by badge data, along with what each badge requires. Spare is a separate action from defeating — for Code Name Sticky you can choose to let it go instead of finishing it off.

05

Obbies and extra challenges

Check
In short Two obbies and a hotdog collection run alongside the boss content.

Outside of boss fights there are obstacle courses and a small collection goal.

  • Finish the Easy Obby for its own completion badge.
  • Finish the Medium Difficulty Obby for its own completion badge.
  • Collect 30 hotdogs to earn the 'Obtain 30 hotdogs' badge the game notes thirty is the cap.
06

Group membership and key binds

Table
In short Joining the official group gives you a visible chat title in-game, plus easy access to update news.

Two small things are worth setting up before you spend serious time in the game.

Official groupjoining adds a chat title next to your name in-game and puts update announcements in your feed.
V keyactivates your current ability during a fight, no extra purchase needed.
B keyspawns a Niko Ball, but this requires owning the relevant gamepass.

Common questions

FAQ

How do I get auras?

Roll — the outcome is random every time. There are more than 100 auras in the game.

What happens if a boss fight goes on too long?

The game triggers the 'Your taking too long!' badge.

Can I earn the boss raid badge by myself?

No — the badge is awarded only on a global completion, meaning the whole server has to finish the raid together.

What is the difference between killing and sparing Code Name Sticky?

Killing it earns the standard defeat badge and a separate no-hit badge if you take no damage. Sparing it earns a different badge called Spare Sticky.
