Getting started on your first session

Check
In short Finishing the tutorial and spending time in Training Mode before going into real matches will save you a lot of frustration early on.

When you first load in, the tutorial walks you through the basic controls and how to use your weapons. After that, Training Mode lets you practice aiming and movement against targets before you face real players. All modes and weapons are available to try without spending anything, so take your time.

  • Complete the tutorial so you understand the core rules before your first match.
  • Spend time in Training Mode until aiming feels natural.
  • Play a few rounds with your starting weapon before worrying about unlocking anything new.

How the two teams work

Table
In short Each team has a completely different job, and learning both sides makes you a better player overall.

At the start of every round, you are assigned to either the human team or the zombie team at random. Humans win by surviving until time runs out or by wiping out all zombies; zombies win by infecting every last human. The two sides play very differently, so understanding each one matters.

Human teamrelies on guns and ranged combat, using cover and terrain to hold off the zombie rush.
Zombie teamfaster moving and wins by closing the gap and touching humans to infect them.
Human strategystick together and buy time; the longer you hold out, the harder it gets for zombies.
Zombie strategynumbers grow as more humans get infected, so early infections snowball into a late-game advantage.
03

Surviving as a human

Tips
In short Staying with teammates and using the map's high ground or tight doorways are the most reliable ways to hold out until the round ends.

Humans who wander alone get picked off quickly. The team that clusters together and covers each other's backs almost always lasts longer.

Tips worth knowing
  • Stay close to at least one teammate at all times so you can cover each other.
  • Move to high ground or choke points with narrow entrances where zombies can only come at you one at a time.
  • Do not camp the same spot for the whole round; if zombies surround you, relocate to another defensible position.
04

Infecting humans as a zombie

Tips
In short Coordinated early infections are the key to building the numerical advantage that wins rounds for the zombie team.

Zombies are faster than humans but start the round outnumbered. Every human you infect joins your side, so the momentum can shift fast if you play smart in the first half of a round.

Tips worth knowing
  • Focus on one target at a time — two or three zombies converging on a single isolated human is far more effective than spreading out.
  • Hit open areas first — when you spot a human in the open with no cover, charge immediately rather than waiting.
  • Flush out campers — if humans are barricaded inside a building, attack from multiple entry points at once to force them out.
  • Apply overwhelming pressure late — once your numbers grow, rush in a wave so defenders cannot focus fire fast enough.
05

Earning points and unlocking weapons

Tips
In short You can unlock every weapon and skin through normal play without spending Robux, as long as you keep earning points each round.

Points drop at the end of each round based on kills and whether your team won. From the menu you can spend those points on new weapons, character skins, and zombie unlocks.

Tips worth knowing
  • Check how many points you earned after each round so you can plan your next unlock.
  • Try several different weapons once you have them, since the best gun is the one that fits how you already play.
  • Premium purchases give you credits and an XP boost, but every weapon and skin can be reached through free play as well.
