Getting started: locomotive, consist, and route

Step
In short Set up your locomotive, consist, and route before you drive.

When you first join, the game asks you to make three choices before you can drive. If the controls feel unfamiliar, check the official tutorial linked in the game description before you begin.

  1. Pick a locomotive choose from the available engines; the NS 4500 appears here if you have the Alpha Player badge.
  2. Build your consist use the consist creator to arrange the carriages or wagons you want behind your engine.
  3. Select a route browse the available routes and pick one to run.

The Alpha Player badge and its reward

Summary
In short Playing during the alpha phase unlocks the NS 4500 in two liveries.

The Alpha Player badge is awarded automatically to anyone who plays Streamlined during the alpha phase. Once you have it, two versions of the NS 4500 locomotive become available to you.

  • Holiday events pay between 100,000 and 150,000 Gulden per quest.
  • Halloween events pay between 75,000 and 150,000 Gulden, with the amount varying by year.
  • April Fools events pay a flat 50,000 Gulden every year.
