About

Overview

The TRUE bus experience puts one player behind the wheel of a bus while everyone else rides along, explores, and causes chaos. Each round a new driver is picked from a queue, the bus gets a random new look, and 23 different events can shake things up along the way. This guide covers how to drive, what to do as a passenger, what the shop sells, and how to earn every badge.

Getting into the driver's seat

Step
In short Becoming the driver is automatic — your job is to be ready when your number comes up.

When you join, check the clipboard near the front of the bus. It shows the next four drivers in order. The queue moves forward every time the bus flips over, the current driver disconnects or resets, or the 30-second stillness timer kicks them out. Once you hit position one, you take the wheel at the next changeover.

  1. Find the clipboard look near the driver's cabin at the front of the bus to see where you sit in the queue.
  2. Know the three handover triggers a crash, a driver reset, or standing still for 30 seconds each advance the queue.
  3. Take your seat when it is your turn the game moves you into the cabin automatically.
  4. Customize before you drive the cabin has three decoration slots: a hanging bobblehead, a pendant, and a steering wheel, all set up from the shop before or between turns.

Driving controls and habits

Tips
In short The bus pulls right constantly, so steering is really just deciding how much left correction to apply.

The controls themselves are simple, but the bus has one quirk that catches new drivers off guard: it is always curving to the right on its own. Finishing the drive without crashing earns you the Competent Driver badge, while crashing earns Rookie Mistake instead.

Tips worth knowing
  • Hold W to move forward.
  • Tap A repeatedly to fight the natural right drift and keep the bus on course.
  • Press the centre of the steering wheel to honk.
  • Swipe the windshield to knock passengers off it, but only do this when no one is hanging there — if a player is on the glass when you swipe, you will be flagged as a bad driver.
  • Standing still for 30 seconds resets you back to the passenger queue and hands driving to the next person.
  • Do not cut the rope holding the fridge — this is explicitly off-limits.
03

Things to do as a passenger

Check
In short Passenger time is packed with food, secrets, and ways to mess with the driver.

While you wait for your turn to drive, the bus has a surprising amount to interact with. What is available depends partly on which bus variant you are riding, but several things are present every round.

  • Grab a drink from the vending machine at the back of the driver's cabin it dispenses Bloxy Cola, Goala Cola, Bloxiade, or Witches Brew.
  • Climb to the roof and click the picnic basket to get a Monster Sandwich.
  • Press the button near the driver's cabin to throw an empty soda can into the cabin, blinding the driver for a few seconds.
  • On a Double Decker variant, head upstairs via the ladder at the back and play the piano, which has four different SFX sets.
  • On a Food Truck variant, cross the bridge at the rear to reach Itigorf's food truck and click the samples out front for a Cheezburger, Hot Dog, or Taco the truck appears rarely.
  • On a Plank Ladder variant, climb to the roof but watch out for the banana peel at the top.
04

Bus variants each round

Summary
In short A random variant is chosen with every new driver, and some can stack on top of each other.

The base bus always has seats, a soda machine, a fridge, a boombox, two trash cans, and a leaderboard. The variant layered on top changes what extras are available. Some variants can be combined — for example Double Decker can appear alongside Food Truck or Fish Tank.

  • Double Decker second floor with a piano; combinable with other variants.
  • Fish Tank a fish tank sits on the roof; combinable.
  • Chair Abomination chairs piled on top of the bus.
  • Plank Ladder adds a ladder to the roof with a banana peel at the top.
  • Food Truck a bridge leads to Itigorf's food truck at the back; the slide can connect to this bridge too.
  • Inflatable Pool a pool on the roof you can stand in.
05

Badges and how to earn them

Tips
In short Most badges come from finding specific spots or waiting for rare events, not from doing anything complicated.

There are 14 badges in total. Most reward you for stumbling into the game's hidden moments rather than grinding a task. The one genuine grind is 1000 Hours, which the developers themselves call the hardest badge to get.

Tips worth knowing
  • Enter the bus earns itself the moment you join and ride.
  • Handpicked Intern is awarded when the queue picks you as driver.
  • Rookie Mistake is earned by crashing the bus; Competent Driver is earned by finishing the drive.
  • Clown School Graduate requires you to go down the slide — look for the Slide variant.
  • The Sighting asks you to find a pair of jeans walking around.
  • Nice view up here! comes from experiencing a dust devil.
  • Strike me down Zeus! means getting hit by lightning on the roof of the bus.
  • Mandatory Rest Stop is earned by driving past a roadside snack stop.
  • RNG God requires rolling 777 on the RiggedBox pendant — purely luck-based.
  • Boombuh! and Tragedy both come from specific disasters: experiencing the hydrogen bomb event or driving into a truck.
  • 1000 Hours is the hardest badge and takes by far the most time to unlock.

Table

Common questions

FAQ

How do I become the driver?

You are added to the driver queue automatically when you join. Check the clipboard near the front of the bus to see your position. When the person ahead of you crashes, resets, or stands still for 30 seconds, the queue moves forward and you become the driver at the next handover.

What happens if I stand still for 30 seconds as the driver?

After 30 seconds of not moving, the game refreshes you and sends you back into the passenger queue. The next person in line takes over as driver.

Can I play without spending Robux?

Yes — riding as a passenger, driving, exploring all variants, and playing across all six maps and 23 events costs nothing. Premium members earn Nickels faster, but the shop only sells cosmetics.

Is VR supported?

The game officially supports VR, as stated on its Roblox page.

Why does the bus keep turning right?

That is how the bus is built — it drifts right on its own no matter what. You correct this by tapping A while holding W, nudging the bus back toward the centre of the road repeatedly throughout the drive.
