Overview

Plank Pals is a two-player co-op obstacle course where you and a partner carry a single plank together through a series of increasingly tough environments. This guide covers the controls, World 1's four biomes, co-op teamwork, and the troll items and skins you can collect along the way.

Controls for every device

Table

In short Learn your own controls and confirm your partner's before you touch the plank.

Each plank action maps to a different key or button depending on your device. Check this table, then ask your partner which device they are on so you are both on the same page before the run starts.

World 1 biome order

Step

In short World 1 runs through four biomes in a fixed order, and you earn a badge each time you reach a new one.

Every biome you enter gives you a badge, so you always know exactly how far you have come. Clear all four and you unlock the World 1 Completed badge.

Grass Plains the opening area of World 1.
Snowy Hills the second biome.
Old Cave the third area, routing you and your partner through an underground section.
Volcano the final stretch of World 1.

Keeping the plank steady as a team

Tips

In short Constant communication is the single biggest factor in keeping the plank under control.

Because both players share one plank, a mistimed input from either person throws the whole run off.

Tips worth knowing

If you plan to use a troll item, warn your partner first so they are not caught off guard.
If you spot a bug, report it in the official communications server.

Troll items and skins

Summary

In short Troll items are earned through play and can shake up a run, while skins are bought from the shop to change how your character looks.

Troll items have three distinct effects you can trigger mid-course. Skins are purely cosmetic.

Explode　launches a blast that disrupts nearby players.
Slip　causes a player to lose their footing.
Fling　throws a player through the air.
Skins　purchased from the in-game shop to customise your character's appearance.

Glossary

Obby: Short for obstacle course — a Roblox game genre where you navigate platforms and hazards to reach the finish.
Biome: A distinct themed zone within World 1, each with its own scenery.
Thrust Plank: A control action that drives the plank forward with force, mapped to T on PC and B on console.
Troll item: An in-game item you earn through play that lets you explode, slip, or fling players.
