Controls on every platform
TableBefore anything else, work out which platform you are on so you use the right button. Swinging is your main way to travel. Wall climbing is automatic on all three platforms — no extra button needed.
| PC | press E to swing |
| Console | hold L2 to swing |
| Mobile | tap the on-screen Swing button to swing |
| Wall climbing (all platforms) | jump near a wall and your spider grabs it automatically |
Swinging and climbing
TipsSwinging is the heart of the game. Keep a steady beat rather than hammering the button as fast as you can. Wall climbing triggers automatically when you jump near a wall.
- Press the swing button at a regular interval instead of mashing it.
- Combining a jump with a swing lets you reach higher positions.
- Ceilings, tight gaps, and other spots only a spider can reach are worth hunting for.
What to do when you are stuck
CheckIf you cannot reach somewhere or cannot move forward, work through these checks. Respawning returns you to the start point.
- Check that you are actually touching the wall before you jump.
- Try approaching from a different angle if your current path is blocked.
- Move the camera around so you can see what is above and beside you, not just ahead.
- Respawn by dying if you are completely boxed in you will return to the start point.
Glossary
Glossary- Swing
- The main movement action where your spider shoots a web and travels through the air; triggered by E on PC, L2 on console, or the on-screen button on mobile.
- Wall climb
- An automatic action that happens when you jump near a wall — your spider grabs the surface and climbs without you pressing anything extra.
- Respawn
- Returning to the starting point after your spider dies, which you can use deliberately to escape spots where you are stuck.
Common questions
FAQI jumped at a wall but my spider did not climb — what went wrong?
Wall climbing triggers automatically when you jump and actually make contact with the wall. Move right up to the surface before you jump, rather than jumping from a distance.
