About

Overview

Blue Lock: Rivals is a fan-made 5v5 soccer battle game on Roblox inspired by the Blue Lock anime. You pick a style with unique abilities, work with your team, and try to become the ultimate striker. This guide covers how to get started, how styles and awakening work, passing, core mechanics, and how to keep improving when you hit a wall.

First steps when you load in

Step
In short Joining the official Roblox group and reaching level 10 unlocks everything else, including the code menu.

Before you touch the code screen or ranked mode, two things need to be done first. The code input panel only appears once both conditions are met, so skipping either one means you will not be able to redeem anything yet. Once those are cleared, the rest of the early setup is quick.

  1. Join the official Roblox group this is required before you can redeem codes or collect certain rewards
  2. Play matches until you reach level 10 the code input screen is locked below this level
  3. Head into a casual match with your starting style focus on getting a feel for passing, shooting, and tackling rather than scoring
  4. Open the Codes menu in the lobby enter any active codes to grab free spins before you forget

02

Core mechanics you need to know

Check
In short Dribbling, shooting, passing, and the flow bar are the four mechanics that decide most matches.

The game has several mechanics you need to use to compete: dribbling, shooting, headers, rainbow flicks, passing, slide tackles, the ability rack, and the flow bar. Ignoring any of them will make it much harder to contribute in a match.

  • Dribbling press Q on PC, the Dribble button on mobile, LT on Xbox, or R1 on PlayStation; anyone who tries to steal while you dribble gets ankle-broken and ragdolled
  • Shooting hold M1 on PC or the Shoot button on mobile; the longer you hold, the more power builds up before the ball launches
  • Volleying if the ball is loose in the air and you hold the shoot button when you touch it, you volley instead; volleys have more acceleration but slightly less range and power than a grounded shot
03

Three ways to pass

Table
In short Matching the pass type to the situation stops the ball from being intercepted and creates better scoring chances.

Passing is one of the most important skills in the game, and there are three distinct types. Each one fits different situations, so knowing when to use which is what separates a good teammate from a selfish one.

Direct passright-click on PC, the Pass button on mobile, or LMB on Xbox; best when no enemy is near the teammate you are targeting and only one teammate is nearby so the pass goes to the right person
Indirect passkick the ball toward a teammate manually; more useful when enemies are surrounding your target, since you can aim upward to loft it over them
Ability passsome styles send perfect passes that travel all the way to a teammate no matter the distance; these can set up a goal from across the pitch and some even trigger chemical reactions with specific style combinations
04

Sae — the all-rounder style

Tips
In short Sae rewards players who can read the field and switch between passing, dribbling, and shooting depending on what the moment calls for.

Sae is a World Class rarity style built around playmaking. It can play effectively in any position, including goalkeeper, because its kit covers defense, passing, dribbling, and shooting. The trade-off is that several of its moves are situational.

Tips worth knowing
  • Off Balance works best on loose balls or right after the opponent dribbles — use it to strip the ball, then slide in immediately because the ball drops right on top of the victim
  • Divine Pass sends a fast curved ball to a targeted teammate and has solid range for setting up crosses or through balls into the box
  • Celestial Destruction has three variants: Magic Turn for 1v1 situations, the Break-Through variant when facing multiple defenders, and the Cross-Cut Feint when you need to change your angle for a shot or pass
  • Perfection Shot curves to the far left or right of where your camera points — if you are on the left side aiming for the upper-left corner, aim toward the center to compensate
  • In awakening, Shoulder Push steals the ball from anyone within about 25 studs — best used to cut off a counter-attack at your goal line
  • Divine Destruction is a one-time awakening move that works well when an AI goalkeeper has saved a shot, but skip it against a human keeper since the scripted aim is predictable
  • Calculation (passive) adds 0.5 seconds of extra ball control time to every normal pass, which gives teammates a little more time to receive cleanly
05

How to redeem codes

Step
In short Codes are entered from the lobby's Codes button, expire quickly, and can only be used once per account.

Codes hand you free Style Spins and Flow Spins, which are your main free source of new abilities. Some codes expire within a single day, and once a code is redeemed on your account it cannot be used again. Codes can also reward Cash or temporary Cash Boosts in addition to spins.
