ST : Blockade Battlefront — Controls to learn before your first wave
About
OverviewBlockade Battlefront is a wave-based tower defense and shooting game where you place units and Titans to protect your base while also fighting enemies yourself. This guide covers the core controls, how to survive escalating waves, boss encounters unlocked by the game's badges, and how to get the most out of co-op play.

Controls to learn before your first wave
CheckEvery action in the game — placing units, special moves, and movement — runs through your keyboard. The full set of binds is Q, E, R, T, Y, F, G, H, Z, X, C, V, and B, plus double-tapping the spacebar for movement. Some moves only trigger under specific conditions, such as holding a keystack or being airborne.
- Q E R T Y unit placement and special actions
- F G H additional in-game operations
- Z X C V B further action binds
- Double spacebar movement action
- Some moves require a keystack input or an aerial condition to activate
Surviving the early waves
StepEarly waves hit lighter, which makes them the best time to experiment. Watch where enemies enter and place units so their fire covers that path. Your own shooting supports the units. If you have teammates, sort out roles right away, because wave-gap pauses are short.
- Watch the entry path place units so they cover the route enemies actually take.
- Test unit-only defence first see how far placed units carry the wave before you add your own fire.
- Add player shooting aim at whatever survives your unit line.
- Use wave gaps the break between waves is the moment to reposition anything that was not working.
Units and Titans: when to use each
TableUnits differ in range, firepower, and cost, so mixing types covers the weaknesses of any single one. Titans are far more powerful but cost significantly more resources. The best time to drop a Titan is where enemies bunch up in a tight corridor — a choke point — or when a particularly heavy wave arrives.
| Standard units | varied range and firepower; combine types to cover each other's gaps |
| Titans | high cost, high impact; best saved for choke points or dense enemy clusters |
| Choke points | narrow paths where enemies stack up; the most efficient spot for any unit |
Taking down bosses
TipsThe game's badges tell you that specific bosses — including Gtoilet and the Scientist — require particular approaches. Gtoilet must be killed before he escapes, so every second counts the moment he spawns. The Scientist has a real form that must be destroyed.
- When Gtoilet appears, focus all fire on him immediately — he will run if you stall
- The Scientist has a true final form; finishing him properly earns the Scientist Terminated badge
- Boss Rush is described by the developers as not that hard
Co-op roles and communication
SummaryBecause the game is built around co-op, having teammates changes the difficulty dramatically. More players mean more firepower and more resource options.
- Placement role one player focuses on deploying and repositioning units throughout the wave
- Shooting role one or more players focus fire on enemies that slip through, and on bosses
- Boss focus whole team switches to one target the moment a boss appears
When you are stuck: a reset checklist
CheckIf enemies keep breaking through, run through these checks between waves rather than mid-fight. If the server itself is lagging or behaving strangely, type /e vote in chat to cast a vote for a server restart — enough votes and the server resets.
- Is your unit line thin in one spot? Add units or shift existing ones to plug the gap.
- Have you held your Titan back too long? Dense enemy clusters are exactly when to use it.
- Is a choke point going unused? Route your defence through it so enemies stack up.
- Is the server lagging badly? Use /e vote in chat to request a restart.
- Found a bug? Report it in the game's Discord right away so developers can patch it quickly.
Special events and upgrade badges
TipsThe game has hosted a Christmas event with its own completion badge. The Astro Arm Tech badge points to an upgrade path involving specific equipment tiers.
- The Christmas event has its own badge
- The Astro Arm Tech badge is tied to upgrades across multiple equipment tiers
- Completing Boss Rush earns a badge
Glossary
Glossary- Wave
- A set number of enemies that attack in sequence; each wave cleared raises the difficulty for the next.
- Unit
- A defensive entity you place on the map that attacks enemies automatically.
- Titan
- A powerful large unit with greater firepower and durability than standard units, but it costs significantly more resources.
- Choke point
- A narrow section of the map where enemies bunch together, making it the most efficient spot to concentrate units.
- Keystack
- A conditional control input where pressing keys in sequence unlocks a move that a single keypress would not trigger.
- Server restart
- A reset of the game server, triggered by players voting with the /e vote chat command, used to clear lag or bugs.
Common questions
FAQHow do I beat Gtoilet before he escapes?
The moment Gtoilet spawns, every player should stop targeting other enemies and put all fire on him. Do not wait to see if your unit line handles it — act immediately.
The server is really laggy. What can I do?
Type /e vote in the chat to cast a vote for a server restart. When enough players vote, the server resets. If you also spotted a bug, report it in the game's Discord so the developers can fix the underlying cause.
What is the best way to learn unit placement as a beginner?
Use the early, lighter waves as a testing ground — try placing units at different spots and watch which positions stop the most enemies. Adjust during the gaps between waves rather than trying to fix things mid-fight.
