About

Overview

The COOL zone is a Garry's Mod-style sandbox game where you spawn a huge variety of items, build things, and mess around — ideally with friends. This guide covers how to get started with the spawn menu, which items to know about, how to survive trickier situations, and what the badges ask you to do.

Getting into the spawn menu

Step
In short Learning the spawn menu controls early saves you a lot of fumbling later.

Every item in the game comes out of the spawn menu, so getting comfortable with it is the first thing worth doing. It holds over 20 main sections, each split into sub-sections, covering everything from firearms to farming tools to emotes.

  1. Open the menu press Q or click the box icon in the on-screen GUI.
  2. Pin it open press the minus key (-) to toggle whether the menu stays open while you do other things.
  3. Star your favourites click the star icon in the top-right corner of any item to add it to the Favorites section, which sits at the very top of the menu so you can grab frequently used gear instantly.
  4. Build a loadout go to Loadouts in the utilities panel, pick a slot to edit, press Add Tools, click the items you want from your inventory, then save. You will spawn with those tools every time without needing to dig through the menu.

Item categories worth knowing

Table
In short Knowing which section holds what you need cuts down the time you spend searching.

03

Staying alive and helping teammates

Tips
In short Keeping healing items on hand makes every session last longer.

Combat in the COOL zone can get chaotic fast, especially on maps with waves of enemies. A few habits keep you and your friends in the fight.

Tips worth knowing
  • The Medi-Gun and Doctor's Bag let you heal nearby players.
  • The Defibrillator and Inspire Aced can revive a downed teammate.
  • If you want to stop dying altogether, activate god mode through the GUI — doing so also earns you the 'i hate dying' badge.
  • Press K immediately after loading in if you just want to get the 'ouch oof' (dying) badge out of the way quickly.
  • On McBorgers maps, surviving 30 waves without god mode or noclip is the requirement for the wave-survival badges.
04

Map events and location-specific secrets

Check
In short Several badges and secrets are locked to specific maps, so knowing where to go saves a lot of wandering.

The COOL zone has over 45 maps, and a handful of them hide events or locations tied directly to badges.

  • Blood moon on McBorgers wait for the event to end naturally; if it is taking too long, the Lighting Editor under Tools > Special Tools can force one to start.
  • Space Shoots minigame go to Katherine's house, head to the basement, and beat the minigame to earn the 'professional pilot' badge for defeating the galactic bandits' mothership.
  • Null zone launch get flung far enough from the map's origin point that rendering starts to glitch out; this triggers the badge for seeing weird things.
  • The Spooky Zone inside Bethany's room in Katherine's house, pressing the like button on the image gives you a tag if you are the first person in the session to do it.
  • Area 51 elevator a tall drop combined with the Fallen King outfit equipped and landing in water recreates the 'fall from grace' badge condition.
  • Rain plus oil in any map, apply oil to yourself while it is raining to get launched into the air.
05

Fishing for the fish crew badge

Step
In short All four fish must be in your inventory at the same time, and one of them only appears in the blood pool.

The 'fish crew abduction' badge requires catching four specific fish: Katfish, Lazy Turtle, Wreckerfish, and the Pink Fancy Lambfish. Katfish, Lazy Turtle, and Pink Fancy Lambfish are caught in normal water pools; Wreckerfish is only found in the blood pool. Fishing poles cannot have their stats edited.

  1. Grab a fishing pole the Fishing Pole, Farmer's Fishing Pole, and Retro Fishing Pole are all in the Fishing sub-section under Other in the spawn menu.
  2. Catch Katfish, Lazy Turtle, and Pink Fancy Lambfish from a normal pool.
  3. Catch Wreckerfish from the blood pool.
  4. Keep all four fish in your inventory at the same time to trigger the badge.
06

VIP and private server access

Summary
In short Most items are free to everyone, but a private server unlocks the full spawn menu for its owner.

A large portion of the spawn menu is available to any player without spending anything. Some items are restricted.

  • VIP Exclusive Barrett M82, GM6 Lynx, Invis Watch, Fury Potion, The Crucible, and several German Imports drinks among others
  • Superadmin / Private Server Exclusive Admin Cuffs, Admin Taser, certain Crucible variants, and a handful of emotes
  • Private server ownership grants Superadmin rank and unlocks every spawn menu item for that owner

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play on mobile or a low-end PC?

The game does not support mobile at all. Low-end PCs will also struggle — the developers themselves say the optimization is poor.

How do I play with friends?

You can just join the same public server, or one of you can open a private server and invite the others. The private server owner also gets Superadmin access and the full spawn menu.

Do I need to spend Robux to have fun?

No. The large majority of weapons, healing items, emotes, and tools are available without any purchase. VIP and Superadmin items exist but cover only a slice of the full catalogue.

Why can't I stat-edit my fishing pole?

The ability to edit fishing pole stats was removed by the developers.
