The shift schedule

Table

In short The menu changes three times a day, so knowing the clock is the most important thing a new worker can learn.

Dan's Diner runs around the clock, but what you can cook and serve depends entirely on which shift is active. Check the time before you start so you know what to expect on the menu.

Step

In short Apply through the in-game hiring system as soon as you join and you can start working straight away.

The diner is always hiring, so there is no waiting around. Once you are approved, you can cook in the kitchen and carry food out to customers. None of this costs anything extra — the core cooking and service experience is fully free to play.

Apply for a job find the in-game hiring system and submit your application.
Head to the kitchen follow the on-screen instructions to prepare orders.
Serve customers deliver finished food to earn Robux tips from other players.

Badges worth working toward

Tips

In short Most badges reward you for doing normal diner work consistently, so just keep showing up and playing naturally.

There are eight badges in the game. Several of them stack up over many sessions, so treat them as long-term goals rather than things to rush.

Tips worth knowing

Log in and consume at least two menu items every day for five days in a row to earn The Regular Award.
Stay in a single session long enough to eat both a breakfast item and a lunch or dinner item for The All-Day Customer Award.
Drink 500 cups of regular coffee to earn The Night Owl Award.
Drink 100 matcha lattes of any type for The Performative Robloxian Award.
Fill every entry in the food index to unlock The Heart Attack Award, which the game calls its hardest badge.
During any weekend session, serve at least one customer to pick up Working for the Weekend.
Order from the fall seasonal menu when it is available to grab the Fall Menu Badge.
Joining the game for the first time earns you the Welcome to Dan's Diner badge automatically.

Playing with friends

Table

In short Public servers let you jump straight into a busy diner, while a VIP server gives your group full control over how the place runs.

You have two ways to work alongside friends, and they suit different kinds of sessions.

Public server	join any open session and work together in the same diner right away.
VIP server	the owner gets admin tools that are not available in public servers, letting your group customise rules and set up the diner the way you want.

Glossary

After Hours: The late-night shift running from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, with its own separate menu.
Food index: A record of every menu item you have consumed; completing it fully earns The Heart Attack Award.
VIP server: A private server that can be owned by multiple players and comes with admin tools not found in public sessions.
Robux tips: In-game payments from other players given to workers for serving them.

Common questions

FAQ

Does the menu really change on its own?

Yes. The diner switches between its three menus automatically based on the time of day. You cannot serve breakfast items during the lunch and dinner shift, for example, so always check which shift is active when you join.

Do I need to spend Robux to enjoy the game?

No. You can apply for a job, cook, and serve customers across all three shifts without spending anything. The core roleplay experience has no paywall.

How do I earn the toughest badge?

The Heart Attack Award requires you to complete your entire food index, meaning you need to consume every item the game tracks.
