Getting started with your first horse

Step
In short The tutorial hands you a free Morgan horse and 100 coins right at the start, so follow it straight through before exploring.

When you first load in, customize your character and then work through the tutorial. Rachel will explain that every new resident of Horse Valley receives a free horse from the town. Once you talk to her and collect your 100-coin reward, head to your assigned stable where a Morgan horse is waiting. Press E to mount it — or tap the on-screen button on mobile — to finish that task and earn another 100 coins.

  1. Talk to Rachel she points you to the stable and awards 100 coins.
  2. Head to your stable your Morgan horse is already there.
  3. Mount the horse press E on PC or tap the button on mobile to complete the Saddle Up task.
  4. Check your backpack it lives at the bottom of the screen and holds everything you carry.

Keeping your horse fed, watered, and clean

Check
In short Three separate care tasks trigger when your horse's needs drop low.

Three separate care tasks trigger when your horse's needs drop low. Each one points you to tools that are already in or near the stable, so you do not need to buy anything to handle them. Completing each care task rewards 100 coins.

  • Thirst pull your bucket from the inventory bar, click the well beside the stable to fill it, then click your horse to give them water.
  • Hunger press E on the hay pile inside the stable, equip the hay, then click the hay icon at the bottom of the screen while standing close to your horse.
  • Hygiene take your horse to the washing stall in the stable and use any of the tools hanging on the walls to restore max hygiene.
  • Crop feeding bonus you can also feed your horse crops you have grown; colts and fillies grow faster when they eat them.

Running your farm for steady coin income

Tips
In short Watering crops once every 16 minutes and planting only in-season seeds will keep your farm producing without waste.

Farming is one of the main ways to earn coins in Horse Valley. You have four crop fields at your ranch, holding up to 64 plants at once. Buy seeds from Charlie's or Benedict, plant them on your fields, and water them regularly until they are ready to harvest, then sell to Benedict at the Supermart.

Tips worth knowing
  • Check the current in-game season before buying seeds — plants that cannot grow in the active season will wilt and cannot be watered or harvested.
  • Fill your watering can at a well, then click each planted field — watered soil turns noticeably darker than dry soil.
  • Water every ~16 minutes, which equals roughly one in-game day; rain in Summer waters your crops automatically, but Winter brings snow instead of rain, so you must water by hand.
  • Corn, Eggplants, Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, and Strawberries keep producing after you harvest them — no need to buy new seeds for those crops.
  • Potato plants can yield more than one vegetable per plant, up to four extra on a single plant.
  • Wilted plants cannot be saved, but you can remove them and sell each one to Benedict for 1 coin.

Side quests and extra things to do

Summary
In short Horse Valley has optional content well beyond the main training loop, so there is always something to work toward.

Beyond training and farming, the game includes named quests tied to real-world references and one-time events. The Wimbledon grass tennis court quest rewards the Perfect Cut badge on completion. The Green Thumb task walks you through placing a crop field, planting potato seeds, and watering them until harvest. About 16 tasks exist in the game in total, each paying coins on completion.

Green Thumb task farm introduction; plants one crop field and waters it to first harvest.
Wimbledon quest named side quest; rewards the Perfect Cut badge.
Milk Mystery world exploration quest; rewards a bigger inventory.
Necklace, Metal, and Pet Mysteries three further exploration quests; each rewards a badge.
Task coin total each main task pays 100–200 coins.

Common questions

FAQ

What happens to my crops when the season changes?

Any planted crop that cannot grow in the new season will wilt immediately. Wilted crops cannot be watered or saved — you can only remove them from the field. Each wilted plant sells to Benedict for 1 coin, so pull them out and replant with seeds that suit the current season.

How do I start the Milk Mystery?

Pet Oreo somewhere in the world and the quest triggers automatically. The reward for solving the whole mystery is a larger inventory.

Do I have to buy new seeds every time I harvest?

Not for every crop. Corn, Eggplants, Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, and Strawberries continue to grow back after you harvest them, so you only need to buy those seeds once. Other crops, like potatoes, must be replanted, though a single potato plant can produce up to four extra vegetables in one cycle.

How many crops can I grow at once?

You have four crop fields at your ranch, each holding 16 plants, for a maximum of 64 crops growing at the same time.

Why is my horse not improving from training?

Check hunger, thirst, and hygiene first. Make sure you are visiting the arena that matches the stat you want to raise, and collect the required number of stars inside it to register progress.
