The basic cooking loop

Step
In short Every successful order follows the same sequence: plate first, then ingredients, then serve.

Before anything else, grab a plate from the green Plate Dispenser button in the kitchen — ingredients will only stick together when they are placed on a plate. Once you have a plate, stack your ingredients on it and cook anything that needs heat before you serve it. Hold E or press the Flip button to flip whatever you are holding.

  1. Get a plate press the green Plate button in the kitchen before touching any ingredients.
  2. Check the order screen it sits above the fryer and shows exactly what each customer wants.
  3. Cook steak and bacon on the grill both must reach the green 'Perfectly cooked' state or the order will not count as correct.
  4. Fry fries in the fryer they need to reach the green 'Perfectly fried' state before serving.
  5. Drop the plate in front of the customer you must let go of it; customers will not take a plate still in your hands.
  6. Watch for rats they crawl out of rat holes and will grab ingredients off the floor, so keep food on plates or in storage.

Ways to earn more money per order

Tips
In short Premium ingredients and sauces stack on top of the base payout, so adding them whenever they are in the map is always worth it.

The base payout depends on which burger a customer ordered, but several add-ons push that number higher. Customers only request premium ingredients or sauce if those items are physically present in the map, so keep them stocked.

Tips worth knowing
  • Adding onions to any burger adds $5 to the payout.
  • Adding tomatoes adds $10 to the payout.
  • Adding perfectly cooked bacon adds $10 to the payout — all three together bring an extra $35 total.
  • Matching a customer's sauce request adds $3 for Ketchup or Mustard, and $10 for BBQ Sauce or Burger Sauce.
03

Serving the Critic for the Golden Chef Hat

Step
In short Reaching 2,000 Critic Points on a single burger earns you the Golden Chef Hat, which blocks the X-27 Prototype and increases your walk speed.

The Critic is a special customer with a 3% base spawn chance, rising to 6% if two or more tomatoes and two or more bacon or onions are all present on the map. Instead of a fixed order, the Critic asks for your finest burger and waits 3.5 minutes. Other players helping you build the burger can also earn the badge.

  1. Build on a plate the Critic only accepts burgers assembled on a plate, same as regular customers.
  2. Use cheese for the easiest route 7 boxes of cheese (each slice gives 25 points) clears 2,000 points without any cooking.
  3. Use steak and cheese together 3 boxes of perfectly cooked steak and 3 boxes of cheese also reaches 2,000 points and is the quickest method because it only requires ordering ingredients three times.
  4. Use bacon as a fast but expensive option 5 boxes of bacon (31 or more strips at 65 points each) clears 2,000 points, though bacon must be perfectly cooked.
  5. Avoid fries and money on the burger fries subtract 150 points and loose money subtracts 100 points from the total.

Rat and cat mechanics

Tips
In short Rats are the main threat to your ingredients, but you can fight back — or join them using a potion.

NPC rats emerge from rat holes and will grab any ingredient left on the floor, carrying it back to a hole where it disappears. Player rats behave similarly and can also be a nuisance. Several tools and items let you deal with them, and potions let you switch sides entirely.

Tips worth knowing
  • Mouse traps cost $6 per pack of six from the Supermarket and instantly remove any rat that touches them, though Worker Rats, Turtle Rats in their shell, and Knight Rats are immune.
  • Cats released from cages (purchasable for $40 in the Supermarket) hunt and kill NPC rats automatically.
  • The Swatter, available from the Hardware Store for $10, stuns and flings rats and thieves when you hit them.
  • The Microwave Hat, earned at $400 total money, zaps and kills nearby rats while you wear it.
  • Potions from the machine in The Sewers let you play as a Rat or Cat — the Strange Potion costs $15 and the Mysterious Potion costs $50 in the Supermarket.
05

Using a private server effectively

Check
In short A private server removes other players' interference and lets you keep all customer money yourself.

Private servers are free in Cook Burgers. Your restaurant budget, customization progress, and customer streak high scores all save between sessions on the same private server. The server owner can clean the entire map at any time and can kick disruptive players.

  • Claim your free private server from the game page before starting a serious grind.
  • Put ingredient boxes on the shelves along the back wall, which keeps them out of the way and easy to find.
  • Use the owner's map-clean option after a big mess rather than tidying item by item.

Common questions

FAQ

Why won't my ingredients stick together?

Ingredients only attach to each other when they are on a plate. Get a plate from the green Plate button in the kitchen first, then stack your ingredients on top of it. If they are still slipping, hold E or press the Flip button to reposition whatever you are holding.

How do I stop rats from stealing my food?

The quickest fix is placing mouse traps (six per $6 pack from the Supermarket) near rat holes or anywhere you store ingredients. Releasing a cat from a cage ($40 at the Supermarket) gives you a permanent rat hunter. The Microwave Hat, earned by accumulating $400, also zaps nearby rats automatically.

Do I need to spend Robux to enjoy the game?

The core restaurant loop — cooking burgers, serving customers, earning money, and unlocking badge hats — is entirely free. A private server is also free.

What is the fastest way to earn the Golden Chef Hat?

The cheese method is the simplest: stack 7 boxes of cheese on a plate and serve it to the Critic — no cooking required. If you want to do it faster and have a helper, 3 boxes of perfectly cooked steak combined with 3 boxes of cheese also clears 2,000 Critic Points and only requires ordering ingredients three times total. Other players building the burger alongside you can earn the badge too.

Does the Critic always spawn?

The base chance of any customer being the Critic is 3%, but having two or more tomatoes on the map adds 1.5%, and having two or more bacon or onions adds another 1.5%, bringing the maximum to 6%. On top of that, there is always a 40% chance the Critic walks past without entering the restaurant.
