Rogue Lineage — How permadeath and heirs work
About
OverviewRogue Lineage is a hardcore fantasy RPG built around permadeath — your character has only a few lives, and when they're gone, you start fresh as an heir who inherits some of what came before. This guide covers how to survive the early game, how to pick a class that suits you, and what to expect as you push toward harder content.

How permadeath and heirs work
SummaryEvery character you play has a limited number of lives. Once they're all gone, that character dies permanently and a new heir takes over. The heir carries forward some of the skills and abilities the previous character learned, so each run leaves you a bit stronger than the last. The game offers almost no hand-holding, so understanding this loop early saves a lot of frustration.
Choosing your class direction
TableThe game offers a range of ultra classes to work toward, and the right choice depends on how you want to play. Some reward aggressive, high-damage play; others lean on support or survival. Read through the options below before committing, since class progression takes real time.
| High mobility with mana counters | Dragon Sa |
| Poison damage and crowd control | Florist |
| Glass cannon with mobility | Faceless or Shinobi |
| Fast path to Khei and quick ultra progression | Ultra Spy |
| High damage with invincibility frames, low health | Oni |
| Life-leeching and Shrieker-based offense | Master Necromancer |
| Team support focus | Master Illusionist |
| High damage plus high HP | Ultra Sigil, Deepknight, or Abyss Walker |
| Defense, healing, and team support with few offense options | Bard |
| Economy and boosting allies | Ultra Blacksmith |
Picking your race as a new player
TipsYou do not need an exceptional race to progress, but a good one makes everything smoother. If you want to change your race without spending Robux, Construct is the main option available to you. Getting it requires earning 25 silver to buy assassin armor from the Sentinel vendor, training mana climb for around thirty minutes after reaching day one, then heading to Oresfall to find the Construct lab and take the test there. If the server has dangerous players, switch to a quieter one before making the attempt.
- Construct gives a free resurrection, potion regen, and the Galvanize ability — strong enough that it's considered nearly unfair
- Haseldan's Last Stand passive can save you in fights that would kill most other races
- Rigan excels at escaping — knowing when to run is a core survival skill when playing solo
- Dinakeri reduces the number of grips you need by three times and provides a powerful temporary buff on grip
- Dzin starts weak but gains dodge abilities that become very valuable later, especially in Khei
Surviving the freshspawn stage
StepA freshspawn has almost nothing to work with, so your first goal is to gather enough silver for essential equipment before anything else. Avoid crowded areas and fights you did not choose.
- Buy assassin armor costs 25 silver from the Sentinel vendor, not Oresfall
- Pick up a bronze weapon a sword costs 9 silver, a dagger 10, a spear 12
- Get a torch costs 10 silver
- Skip the helmet for now at 40 silver it is too expensive for a freshspawn
- Train mana charge it repeatedly or use mana punch on zscrooms to build it up
Progressing toward Super, Ultra, Uber, and Edict
WarnThe game's badges — Super Class, Ultra Class, Uber Class, and Edict — mark major milestones in your character's growth. Reaching Khei is its own achievement tracked separately as World Traveller. Edict requires obtaining the true power of your lineage.

Common questions
FAQDo I lose everything when my character dies?
Not entirely. Skills and some abilities carry over to your heir, so each death still leaves you stronger than before. The character is gone, but what they learned is not.
Can I get a good race without spending Robux?
Yes — Construct is available without Robux and is considered one of the strongest races in the game. Reaching it takes some setup: you need assassin armor, trained mana climb, and a trip to Oresfall's Construct lab to take the test.
What should I do when I first spawn?
Head straight for basic gear — assassin armor and a bronze weapon are the priority. Avoid fights and populated areas until you have equipment, and start training your mana as soon as you can.
How do I get to Khei?
Khei is a destination you travel to as part of deeper game progression, and reaching it is recognized as its own achievement. Ultra Spy is specifically noted as a fast route there.
