About

Overview

SCP: Site Roleplay drops you inside Site-64, a secret SCP Foundation facility buried under the frozen tundra of Northern Canada. You pick a side — Security, Scientist, Class-D, Chaos Insurgent, or Hostile Test Subject — and the whole experience is built around playing that role against everyone else.

The five factions and what each one does

In short Your faction decides your goal, your starting location, and who counts as your enemy.

Site-64 has five distinct factions, and every round revolves around their competing goals. Security and Scientists work to keep the facility running; Class-D prisoners are caught in the middle; Chaos Insurgents and Hostile Test Subjects push to tear it all down.

Securitydefend the facility, stop escapes, and counter hostile forces
Scientistrun experiments on Class-D personnel and manage containment breaches
Class-Dsurvive dangerous experiments and look for any chance to escape
Chaos Insurgentsabotage the facility and free Class-D prisoners
Hostile Test Subjectfocus entirely on escaping from Site-64

Getting started: spawn points and first moves

Step
In short Knowing where you spawn and who your teammates are will save you from wandering into the wrong area in the opening seconds.

Each faction spawns in a different part of the map. Security starts in the security area, Scientists in the labs, Class-D in the containment cells, and both Chaos Insurgents and Hostile Test Subjects begin outside the facility. The first thing to do after spawning is figure out your surroundings before you move anywhere dangerous.

  1. Check your faction confirm which role you have been assigned the moment you spawn
  2. Read the map find your bearings from a safe spot before pushing into unfamiliar areas
  3. Locate teammates find other players in your faction early so you can coordinate
  4. Review the rulebook the official Gameplay Rulebook linked on the game page covers what is and is not allowed
03

Playing Security: patrol and response

Tips
In short Security is about consistent presence — the moment you stop watching a corridor, something bad will happen there.

Security officers carry firearms and are responsible for the entire facility. Coordinate with other Security players constantly, because a lone guard is far easier to slip past than an organized team.

Tips worth knowing
  • Walk regular patrol routes through corridors and entry points
  • Share information with other Security players as soon as you spot something unusual
  • Block unauthorized movement
  • During a containment breach, shift focus to lockdowns
  • Careless gunfire in tight spaces causes panic and can make the situation worse than the threat you were responding to
04

Scientists versus Class-D: the experiment dynamic

Table
In short The friction between Scientists trying to run experiments and Class-D trying to escape is the engine that drives most of the roleplay inside the facility.

Scientists direct experiments and rely on Security to keep Class-D in line. Class-D often have strength in numbers, and a group of them working together can find an escape route that a solo player never would. Neither faction can ignore Security — Scientists need protection, and Class-D need to get past them.

Scientistplan experiments, give instructions to Class-D, and stay close to Security for protection
Scientistlow combat ability means you should rely on Security
Class-Dweigh cooperation against resistance each time a Scientist gives an order
Class-Dcoordinating with other Class-D prisoners raises your chances of reaching an exit
05

Playing Chaos Insurgents and Hostile Test Subjects

Tips
In short Both factions fight against the facility, but their goals are different enough that you should never confuse one for the other.

Chaos Insurgents want to destroy facility infrastructure and free the Class-D population. Hostile Test Subjects have a single goal — get out. Security and Scientists will treat both factions as enemies, so violent confrontations are unavoidable. Occasionally the two factions can benefit from moving in the same direction, even though their end goals differ.

Tips worth knowing
  • As a Chaos Insurgent, target key facility systems and remove Security opposition before trying to free Class-D
  • As a Hostile Test Subject, focus on escaping from the facility
  • Both factions share Security as a common enemy, but that does not make them automatic allies
  • Stay inside your faction's role rather than attacking players randomly
06

When the round is not going your way

Check
In short Most problems come down to map knowledge, missing teammates, or a faction imbalance that can only be fixed by switching servers.

Rounds in Site-64 can stall for a variety of reasons. Major in-game events such as containment breaches do not happen instantly — they develop over time, so patience is part of the game.

  • Faction balance check whether one side has far more players than the others and consider joining a different server
  • Route planning confirm you have a clear path to your faction's objective
  • Teammate coordination make sure you and your allies are working toward the same goal at the same time
  • Event timing remember that large events unfold gradually, and waiting can change the situation in your favor
  • Rulebook check if other players are acting strangely, re-read the official rules to see whether their behavior is allowed
