Bacterial experiments and creature hatching

Tips
In short The lab is the heart of the game, and experimenting with bacteria is how you unlock some of the toughest badges.

The submarine's lab lets you combine different bacteria to create new organisms and hatch creature eggs. Hatching every animal in the game is a serious long-term goal, and bacterial infection opens up outcomes you cannot get otherwise.

Tips worth knowing
  • Hatch eggs using bacterial infection to earn the Ethically Questionable badge.
  • Hatch every animal in the game to earn Molecular Biologist.
  • Clones can be created and will follow you around, though results vary.
  • The food machine can be overloaded from extreme hunger, earning Recipe for Disaster.
  • If you want the Patient Zero badge, you can infect yourself.
03

Ocean floor exploration

Check
In short Thorough searching every dive is the only way to complete the relic collection and earn the top explorer badges.

Outside the submarine lies the ocean floor, and it holds relics that are easy to miss if you rush. The Treasure Hunter badge rewards finding relics outside, while Marine Archaeologist requires collecting every single one. The Dungeon Delver badge adds another layer — there are monsters and ancient dangers down there, but also a big payout if you make it through.

  • Search the ocean floor to find relics for Treasure Hunter and Marine Archaeologist.
  • Marine Archaeologist requires finding every relic in the sea.
  • Surviving monsters and ancient horrors while bringing back a huge profit earns Dungeon Delver.
  • Healing another player using your bandages earns Good Samaritan.
04

Surviving disasters and using lifepods

Step
In short Preparing your lifepod before any crisis begins is the difference between Survivor and a quick respawn.

Disasters on the submarine are not rare, and they can escalate fast. The Survivor badge demands that you live through both the submarine's destruction and the lifepods' own failures.

  1. Charge the power cell make sure a power cell is fully charged before you place it in a lifepod, earning Clinging to Life.
  2. Know when the submarine is moving if you miss the departure, you earn Stranded and are left behind.
  3. Watch the meltdown carefully making a small mistake during a meltdown earns Melted.
  4. Survive everything to earn Survivor, you must outlast both the submarine's destruction and the lifepod failures using skill or luck.
05

Playing fairly with other players

Warn

Worth watching out for
If you want What Have I Done…, agree with the other player beforehand so no one is genuinely upset.
For Good Samaritan, use your bandages to heal another player.
