Picking a free character and learning the basics early puts you in a good position to take on quests right away.
When you first load in, you choose a character before entering any map. Several characters are free from the start, so you can jump in without spending anything. After selecting a character, pick a map — locations range from Fredbear's to the PizzaPlex, each set in a different era of the FNAF story.

Beyond the standard pizzeria maps, Glitchworld is a distinct area with its own secrets. One of the badges in the game — tied to playing a specific tune on the pianos found there — can only be earned by experimenting with those instruments.
