Getting started as a new player

Step
In short Spend your first minutes learning the controls of one vehicle before diving into combat.

When you join, you are automatically placed on either the red or blue team. From your spawn point, take a look around to see which planes, warships, and turrets are available. Climb into a cockpit to fly, head to the bridge to command a ship, or take a turret seat to support from a fixed position.

  1. Check the map look around your spawn to find available planes, ships, and turrets before choosing.
  2. Pick your role board a plane for speed and scouting, a warship for raw firepower, or a turret for base defense.
  3. Avoid open ground staying in covered positions makes it harder for enemy planes to bomb you.

Team roles and how they fit together

Table
In short Each vehicle type has a clear job, and the team wins when those jobs are covered.

Harbor Havoc is a team game, so the three main roles — planes, warships, and turrets — each contribute differently. Planes cover the most ground but are fragile. Warships hit hard and take punishment but turn slowly. Turrets cannot move at all, but they hold a position better than anything else. When you play with friends, agree on who takes which role before the round starts so the team has all angles covered.

Planesfast, high visibility, best for scouting and pressuring the enemy from above.
Warshipshigh firepower and durability, best for attacking enemy ships and shore targets.
Turretsfixed but powerful, best for stopping enemy advances near your harbor.
Island controlheld by the whole team together, strengthens your team's arsenal over time.

Fighting in the air

Tips
In short Patience and positioning beat raw aggression in aerial combat.

Air combat rewards players who pick their fights carefully rather than charging every enemy they see. Use your altitude, speed, and the element of surprise as advantages — ideally all three at once. Watch your ammunition, because running dry at the wrong moment can cost you the fight.

Tips worth knowing
  • Aim ahead of a moving enemy to account for bullet travel distance.
  • Only enter a dogfight when you already have an advantage such as higher altitude or faster speed.
  • Gain altitude before attacking so you can dive down on the enemy, making them a larger target.
  • Sneaking up on an enemy plane before opening fire is almost always better than a head-on pass.
  • In a slower plane against a faster one, use your tighter turn radius to break toward the enemy and deal damage.
  • If your plane is nearly destroyed and escape is impossible, bail out and let the plane ram the enemy.
05

Bombing ships and islands from the air

Tips
In short Targeting the driver and AA gunners first makes ship and island attacks far safer.

When attacking a warship or island from the air, your first priority is taking out the people who can shoot back. The ship's driver controls both movement and most of the armaments, so eliminating the driver quickly makes the whole vessel easier to destroy. After the driver, knock out anyone manning anti-aircraft guns before you press the attack.

Tips worth knowing
  • Hit the bridge of a ship first — the driver there controls the ship's movement and most of its guns.
  • Knock out AA gunners on ships and islands before flying in close.
  • Find the weakest gap in AA coverage and approach from that angle.
  • If your plane has missiles, you can strike from longer range and reduce your exposure.
06

Capturing and holding islands

Check
In short Securing islands steadily builds your team's strength throughout the round.

Abandoned islands can be claimed by your team, and holding them strengthens your team's arsenal. Holding an island under fire takes patience — stay in covered spots and keep shooting even if you die.

  • Stay in cover while capturing so bombers and enemy planes have a harder time hitting you.
  • Keep pushing even after dying return and continue contributing to the capture.
07

Warship tactics on the water

Warn
In short Predictable movement gets ships sunk fast, so keep changing your course.

Warships are powerful but make easy targets when they travel in a straight line. Vary your path constantly so enemy planes cannot line up a clean bombing run.

Worth watching out for
Never hold a straight course for long weaving makes you a much harder target for planes.
Prioritize shooting down planes when you can an undisturbed bomber can end a round quickly.
08

Playing with friends

Step
In short Agreeing on roles before the round and sharing enemy positions in real time gives your team a major edge.

A coordinated group of friends can be far more effective than the same number of players acting solo. The biggest gains come from dividing up roles ahead of time and keeping each other informed during the round.

  1. Divide roles before the round decide who flies, who sails, and who mans the turrets.
  2. Coordinate attacks hitting an enemy target from several directions at the same time is far harder to stop.

Common questions

FAQ

Can I play solo without friends?

Yes. You are automatically assigned to a team with other players, so you always have teammates even without friends in your group.

How do I win a round?

Your team needs to destroy the enemy harbor while defending your own. Capturing and holding islands strengthens your arsenal along the way.

Is spending Robux necessary to enjoy the game?

No. The core game — joining a team, flying planes, commanding warships, operating turrets, and capturing islands — is all available without spending anything.

What do I do when a heavy bomber is heading for my harbor?

Get as many players as possible shooting at it immediately — every bit of damage counts. If you are in a plane, intercept it before it reaches the harbor.
